When Yukari felt her phone buzz in her pocket, she didn't even bother pulling it out for a good ten minutes. She knew what it was going to be, since she'd been told that morning she would be getting a message, but she was in no hurry to hasten finding out.
When she couldn't put it off any longer (she wasn't really doing anything, and it would bother her to let it go), she checked the message with some trepidation. Just a name, as she expected. Specifically, the name of the Vocaloid she'd be performing with at her next concert. Just the thought of the roar of the crowds and the heat of the lights started the growth of a cold feeling in her stomach– when had performing begun to make her so anxious, anyway? It hadn't always been so bad.
After texting a quick "Okay" back to her producer, Yukari swung herself off her bed, where she'd been reclining, and resolved to start practicing as early as possible. And maybe if she could find her partner while she was out, they could start working together.
Without even meaning to, Yukari found herself face to face with them as soon as she entered her favorite practice room. Had they heard as well?
"Uh… Did you mean ‘that’s all right’ in like a ‘I don’t wanna do it’ kinda way or in a ‘that sounds great lets totally do it and have a lot of fun and become BFFZ 5evr’ kinda way?"
"(I hope its the last one.)"

"Teehee, you’re actually right about that. I’d loooooove to be a cow butt for Halloween. Heck, I wanna be a cow butt all the time! But you don’t have to decline because of me, Yukari, we should do a three person costume with Miki! She can have two butts!"

“Yukari! Don't you know how this works!?”
“If I simply go as myself for Halloween, then people will be so excited to see me that they will give me as much candy as I could possibly want!!!”
“Actually, scratch that idea. I'm not really popular so people probably won't even know who I am. I guess I gotta go with plan B: dressing as a cow! Wanna be my second half!?”
Yukari blinked, taking a second to follow Miki's train of thought. "Ah... right. I'm sure people would recognize you, but that's not really in the spirit, is it..."
"Y'know, thanks for the offer, but I think I'll pass. You could ask Rinto, though. I'm sure he'd love to be a cow's butt for Halloween."
"Yeah, we’ll see. Miku may get angry with me if I actually go through with it."
"What are you going to be? I think you’d make a pretty good vampire, in all honesty."
"Really? That's what I told SeeU. Being a vampire would be fun, but I'm not going to do the same thing as her."
"I was thinking maybe a witch. Not that it's not any less common or anything, but I don't know of any other Vocaloids who are doing it."
Important? Did it have to be important for SeeU to get excited by it? Heck, she just liked fancy dress, she was no devil worshipper, or whatever it was behind Halloween.
"Oriiiight I guess that does sound kinda shifty. But don’t worry, I’m not going to kill you any time soon. Promise. You’d legitimately look good… Though I can’t think of something you wouldn’t look good in, get me? Maybe a colour that clashed with purple, I guess…" Oh look, she’s going on again.
"Ooooh, vampire? Well yeah, that’s cool. As long as I can go around biting people and dripping fake blood everywhere! But maybe not, actually, because that’s the kinda thing that’s going to make people not give me candy.. Hmm. But yeah, that’s a pretty good idea, if I find a way to do it well enough!! —Hey, Yukari, are you going to go trick or treating, or are you just going to dress up for the fun of it?"
Yukari grinned, a flattered but a little embarrassed by the praise. SeeU did like to talk, didn't she? Sometimes it took some concentration just to catch everything she said.
"Haha, thanks."
"Yeah, I think you'd make a great vampire. Fake blood would be really cool, as long as you don't go overboard, I guess. I bet you can find that pretty easily at costume stores."
"Hm... I might go trick or treating, but I'll see if anyone's having some kind of Halloween party. That would be fun too, and there'd be just as much candy!"
