She’s fighting, in a way she hasn’t bothered to in centuries. There are tears in her eyes, though she doesn’t let them fall. There’s no point to it. It’s only hurting them both. A curse is designed to cause pain, and that’s the only reason she’s granted these few precious, torturous minutes at all. Still, she reaches for her husband, drinking up the sight of him. It may have to last her centuries.

“I don’t want to go.”

Lilith can be gentle. Often is, with her husband. Still, it can be a struggle when he’s like this. How can anyone think him a monster, when he carries so much guilt? Sighing, she wraps her own hand around his on the glass, a silent demand.

“You offered her a choice, my love. One I don’t think she regrets. And even if you were the being they say you are? I would still be on your side. I could never detest you.”

And she almost sounds like she’s begging. He knows better, she assumes, but that doesn’t mean some part of the emotion doesn’t ring true.

me, vibrating: ok but realistically default lucifer ‘verse probably is one where lilith was given the mother of monsters curse and ran from it. we know she has....no to a negative relationship with the lilim and that she’s not even mentioned in any sort of lineage of hell. plus lucifer’s, ahem, relationship with Eve would not have endeared her to sticking around. 

they might have half-siblings, but there haven’t been any more of the demonic lilim in a long time.

wait where was I going with this? it’s definitely a more isolated interpretation. lilith is probably more than a little pissed lucifer has basically made the entire west coast a no go zone and dragged everyone short of God himself back onto her home turf

He’d do anything for her if she wanted and well saving the multiverse kind of left a funny taste in his mouth so he’d probably be giving up that lifestyle for the time being.

He smiles softly when she kissed his cheek. Lucifer pressed a gentle kiss to her lips. “Are you okay?”

“I am perfectly fine. Particularly with you offering to dress up for me.”

Her possessiveness was....complex. But just for you in that sultry purr never failed to warm her. Still, rather than deepening the kiss just yet, she crossed her wrists behind the nape of his neck, keeping him close, and playfully tugged a lock of his hair.

“I’m sure you put the fear of the devil into him. But a little warning next time, hm?”

He nuzzles her hand and smiles before kissing her hand. “I am now that you’re here. I love you.”

“Ah--I’d be less upset about your saving the world as a caped crusader if you came home wearing leather.” 

Not that she’d been horribly upset in the first place. Confused, yes, and a little alarmed. But she’s hardly going to complain about their continued existence. Smiling softly, she drops her hand, leaning in to kiss his cheek.

“I love you too. What happened?”

Lilith is studiously still under her king’s hands, muscles taut. Her scars tend to fade over time. Though she never ages, her skin does renew. How else would she heal? 

How else would she survive for so long? 

Still, she can’t say she understands Lucifer’s preoccupation with them. Especially this new one, stark against the line of her arm. It’ll take time for it to grow silver. 

Sighing, Lilith answers what she assumes to be an unvoiced question.
