My Angel Arrives at Dusk
My Angel Arrives At Dusk
Annj was a Tamil Lady from Toronto, and I was an Edmontonian of Sinhalese ancestry. She had travelled to Edmonton to watch a Gwen Stefani concert, and I fell in love with her smile, humour, writing ✍🏾 and prose. She also replicated her passion, and I planned for a trip on a Greyhound Bus to Scarborough to learn more about what had piqued my attention. She was the Butterfly teacher I followed on a beautiful journey from nation to nation, learning, loving, laughing, and living away from afar in the looking glass.
She was my muse, my heart, and She was a dream. Above the Sun, She was falling, floating down, and that day had found me; the Sun had touched me, and her warm embrace was again closer to the glory of love and joy. The dusk on that Summer day is a moment that I keep in my mind like a sapphire in her scarf that I treasure and will never forget.
I knew that I would never be able to catch a bird or a butterfly, but its beauty was love. We can never keep love, but it floated in the air that warm Sri Lankan evening and mixed with fire and passion at that moment of magic. Joy and expectation lasted together Lions and Tigers united in that moment as Ligers in peace.
The Angel
So quickly as She visited Me, She Flies Away
To Bless and Honor through Compassion and Love
Although she is going, in My Heart, she stays
And for Her Presence, I thank God Above
For my Soul was Weak Before We Met
But Her Love is Strong, and I am Changed
My Love for this Angel had grown even more yet
The emotions the Angel gives me are wildly ranged
The Angel has brought me closer to Heaven Above
And that is the Purpose of Love
