"Yes, I am." The Master insisted. He didn’t know why she was being so stubborn about this. Though if she was stubborn, he would be stubborn as well- there was no way he would accept any help now. "—- No. I do not need your help, do you understand me?”

The alien rolled his eyes in annoyance, growling and looking away. "My inner voice isn't me. What's me is what I'm saying now." --- Inner voice? Telling her he needed help? That must've been Koschei, for sure. The Master would never be so weak as to call out for help. Not willingly, of course.

He could tell that the other was…debating. On what, he didn’t know for sure, but he had to guess it was the fact if she knew him or not. Or maybe it was the fact whether to tell him. Either way, if it was a debating thought…. maybe..?

"So… did I.. deserve what happened to me? Did I deserve all these injuries? Did I deserve my memory being wiped out?"

Yes, he wasn’t so sure how he got injured and how his memory was lost, but she did know him, and saying it was a long time ago… he had to believe her on that. He would have to believe her on anything she said, he was desperate.

She inhaled sharply, trying to figure out how to answer those questions. She wasn’t too sure what to even say to him. It’s not like he’d told her too much about himself when they first met. 

"I’m not sure, but no one really deserves what ‘appened to you. I don’t think anyone to deserves to be almost beaten to death." The memory loss was something she wished she had sometimes. Well, she had some memory loss but that was a consequence of taking others’ memories from them. "All you need to know right now is that I’m ‘ere, and I’m gonna be your friend."

Yet another moment of hesitation. It made him wary of himself, or.. rather, whoever he used to be. He didn't really understand why he was feeling as if he was... odd in the past, but this kind of vibe wasn't very welcoming to him. It made him more nervous, and more scared to ask other questions. Would he even want to know who he was?

"My... friend?" He smiled, almost in disbelief. Would she truly decide to stay beside him? He figured after all this was over, he'd be sent off to try to figure everything on his own, but the fact she was staying with him... comforted him, a little. He wouldn't complain about anything else, not as long as he could help it, at least. "Thank you."

The Time Lord listened to the other go on and on, and that just gained a grumble from him. “Well, guess what? I’m suffering, and that’s the end of it. I might as well deserve it for all the things I’ve done to people, and the fact I have just laughed at other people’s pain. There is one thing I do not require, and that is pity. Not from you, not from the Doctor, no one!”

He wasn't much destined for much after the Apocalypse. the Sin was supposed to stay in the cage, but even those plans were foiled. "You flawed abortions couldn't possibly help me. Oh, he didn’t know about that. He could have easily been left there, and for all he was concerned with, it would have been… peaceful, maybe. It would put any stress on him about trying to figure out who he was, and why he had been so wounded in the first place. Taking a deep breath, he glanced around.

"I.." Wow. It would be hard to spill this out. "Who.. do you know.. who I am?" he softly asked, his gaze never meeting the other’s. Hopefully it would be that easy, but if not.. he supposed he truly was clueless. Then again, he would find it very rare for a person to know and find him there. “‘S a stupid question.." he grumbled out. "Sorry."
