Oh, I love Nabokov. He was such a pretentious-genius-writer-and-chess-player-grumpy-dude-who-was-only-nice-to-his-wife-and-butterflies-oh-and-he-also-liked-Kafka's-books bitch.
Headcanon: Richard has a thing for Henry's hands
Oh, wait-
“Good Omens” is a perfect book to read if you have any type of religion-related trauma. My buddy Crowley will get you through this <з
It seems strange to me that Andrew's and Neil's relationships are basically the healthiest one I've seen this year, because they have a lot of mental issues; while many people who has no visible traumas have relationships as toxic as snake's poison.
I feel like «Infected» by Sickick should've been a soundtrack in «Fight Club» movie.
BoJack Horseman is my new personality type.
Why the fuck do I feel so much pity for some poor german house painter?
That awkward feeling when Death has a better sense of humour than you.
Nick: *kisses Charlie*
Charlie: you've been sending me a lot of mixed signals
It's the most accurate representation of
– I love you.
– I'm not sure if they want to date me.
Neil's roasting Riko at the National TV.
Andrew, in his mind: *regrets life choices* For what sins did I fall in love with him?
Have you ever thought about 'Pride and Prejudice' being a satirical novel?
I mean, let's compare mr. Darcy to all the other characters. In my opinion none of them except Darcy was so well-written, had a character development and backstory. He's such a multifaceted person.
When we talk about the other characters all of them seem quite...boring? They have similar behavioural patterns throughout the whole book, they didn't get progress nor any exposition and other stuff.
Alright, Lizzie changed her opinion about Fitzwilliam, BUT she does it only because of his guidance; like: „ k, girl, I'll hand you a letter in which I explain all of my motives, so you don't think I'm a bad guy“ or „ I'm gonna try to be amiable and respectful towards all of your stupid relatives who i have zero interest in, because I love you and want you to think of me in a better way“. Darcy wants Elizabeth to change her mind, not Bennet herself.
Well, are the other characters talk-worth? Mother whose life's purpose is to marry off her daughters; dad (i love him no matter what, btw), who's spending his life laughing at stupidity of his wife and daughters; daughters who have painfully-stable kind of behaviour (I'm not talking about some reasonabless here, my point is their characters don't change at all, some sisters like Mary and Kitty are difficult to remember).
Mr. Darcy in my opinion has many huge differences from other people in this book. So, my hypothesis here is that Darcy's attempts to get along with the society members who's obviously not at the same level as him represent mister's downfall. What I mean is he sacrifice all his principals and reasoning for an attempt to be more socially acceptable in the eyes of people he isn't comfortable with. And that's all because of love to a woman who have pretty the same opinions and world views as members of the named community.
Elizabeth, after Wickham told her that story about mr. Darcy: God! Can you believe it? He's pure evil!
Jane: well...Maybe Wickham told you that only from his point of view and you should listen to both si-
Elizabeth: do you even hear me, Jane? He's good-looking, he cannot lie!
Top 10 signs you are close to a mental breakdown.
Number 1: you can relate to Andrew Minyard.
Do you also have your own fictional characters who have different opinions, interests, points of view and personalities so you can create a book club to discuss read novels in your head? Or are you normal?
Thomas Mann, in order to hide his homosexuality and not destroy family's reputation, got married and had six children. And then, when he was seventy-five, he met that twenty-year-old waiter in Zurich, who he fell in love with and, probably, went like: «God, I'm so gay».
This is giving me strong andreil vibes... like??? I don't even know why actually.
I read a couple of articles about Achilles and Patroclus relationships and some of these try to represent them as friendship, refusing to believe there might be something romantic.
So, here are quick tips to develop strong male friendship.
Go back in the battle, despite your promises and principals.
Kill the dude that killed your friend, even though the prophecy said you'll die because of it.
Say everyone you want to be buried in one grave with your friend.
Refuse to fulfill will of your godess-mother, 'cause you don't want to leave your friend.
Say you love that friend more than everything.
When your friend is getting buried, cry and put a taft of your hair in his dead hands.
Finally, die with a smile, because you know that you'll meet him in the underworld and you both will be together forever.
