Abigail swallowed, feeling as though she had knifepoints in her lungs. “I don’t remember hurting him…” She looked down at the blood on her hands, her fingers quivering as she tasted bile. “I don’t remember killing him… Will, I swear to you, I didn’t do this on purpose!”

They were going to arrest her. They were going to fry her. There was no way that she would be absolved this time – not when death after death kept stacking up in her wake. Not unless Will helped her. She looked up at him imploringly, eyes wet like molten glass.
