                “me either… whose to say THEY aren’t plotting anything?? waiting to strike when we least expect it…” he sighed, his voice filled with obvious discontent. kaidar had just completed his daily training, even if they were stranded on some strange planet for the time being, the trooper HAD to stay sharp. he was just taking a breather when he found himself in this conversation. “sure.” he said simply, a gesture for her to lead the way accompanying his words. 

❛ I imagine they are. They’re always up to something. ❜ It was just a matter of when they would strike and what they would do. ❛ Were you injured in the crash? ❜  Rose hadn’t been, but it had been unexpected and Rose at least had been unprepared for it. She imagined there were some injuries.

“Probably a good idea.” Obi-Wan had found the presence of the dark side disconcerting and though he had yet to find its source, he had a feeling he was not going to like the answer. He was trusting the Force and knew that this was a reason for it. But other than that, the Jedi had not found any other answers. He had made it to the castle, the only structure as far as the eye could see. It drew people here like a beacon. The young girl before him was one of the handful of individuals he had come upon.

At this point, her offer of a drink seemed to be the only real source of a plan he was going to be making on this strange planet. The Force told him he could trust her and that she could provide some answers. “Very well, a drink it is. Though perhaps you might be able to answer some questions.” It was the methodical nature of him to always think two steps ahead and the more one knew of their circumstances. “Do you recall how you came to this planet?”

While Rose did not recognize the man by face, he did seem like a good soul. She was able to tell that with Finn, she could tell that with this man too.  ❛ Vaguely, ❜ she mused, glancing aside to recall the circumstances. ❛ I wasn’t on the bridge when it happened, I don’t know what went wrong. ❜  

And she hadn’t even seen her friends since the crash. That worried her.

❛ After battling on Crait, we both crash landed. Though, I don’t know what planet this is. ❜

The tall and somewhat lanky man paused. He’d been exploring the area ever since… well, ever since becoming ‘aware’ again. Farsight had eluded him to this point, but Marek was certain once he calmed and found his center. the Force would show him the way. “Drink?” he asked, looked over to the shorter girl. Slowly he nodded. “Sounds fair. Do you by chance know where we are?” Twin lightsabers hung from his leather vest he wore on his chest, but his clothes looked mostly ragged.

❛ No, ❜ the girl said, glancing at the lightsabers. She didn’t recognize the man. She couldn’t tell what his alliance was. That made Rose nervous. But she didn’t say anything about it for now. ❛ I  haven’t been told anything about where we are or why we’re here or why everyone is stuck here together. ❜

    he wasn’t remotely happy about their circumstances either. wiping the resistance out was the goal, not working together with them. were it not of great importance, kylo would have gone against this entire thing. for now, though, he would go along with it. “none of you may be delighted about our circumstances, but i can assure you neither if the first order. your lot isn’t exactly the easiest to trust, after all.”

That offer had not been directed at him and instantly a shiver ran through her spine. How did she not hear him approach? ❛ Please excuse me if I am not sympathetic to your plight. ❜ Rose would not attack, much as she wanted to. She refused to be the one that caused the end of the peace. But she felt like she didn’t have to be nice to him either.

     STARS IN THE NIGHT SKY SHINE brightly above, a sight only seen as a rarity for a scavenger from jakku, a planet where the sun shone for most of the hours, only truly dimming, hardly disappearing. another planet she was seeing for the first time, though the name of it was still a mystery. maybe that made the experience even more intriguing. while others were fretting, she was taking it all in. for rey, the gravity of the situation hadn’t truly hit just yet. her mind was an enigma of thoughts - questions, ideas, wonders. but she pushed them all away as the evening breeze hit her cheeks, focusing solely on the stars.

     it wasn’t until she had finally shifted from her position that the presence of another was noted, and rey turned in their direction, a bit startled. “sorry, got - quite distracted for a moment there. counting stars can be a decent way to forget about reality for a bit.” in all honesty, reality seems too frightening to face right now. 

❛ i understand. ❜  and rose truly did. everyone would cope with this change in different ways. rose herself was throwing herself into work-- delving deep into anything that she may be able to fix. anything she may be able to exercise some sense of control over. she grasped at her pendant, wishing so much that paige was here. paige would know what to do. paige would know how to fix this. 

❛ how many have you counted so far? ❜ rose has always loved the stars. even when she was living on the now dead planet of hays minor, she would lay out and gaze at the stars; wishing she could go fly among them.

❛ i don’t trust any of this. ❜  crash landing on a mysterious planet and forced to reside nearby to their enemy ?? being this close to the first order ?? none of this felt like a coincidence and rose did not like it. of course, the mechanic wouldn’t screw with whatever strained peace had fallen over them ... but she was doing her damndest to avoid those on the other side.  ❛ i could use something to drink. wanna come with? ❜

rose has always been a girl who is loyal to her family and cause

she grew up with her parents and sister paige on hays minor, an impoverished mining outer system planet that was destroyed by the first order

hays minor was used as a weapons testing planet for the order, as well as a site where many children were kidnapped to become stormtroopers

this is what started her hatred of the first order

when it started to look like the beginning of the end of their planet, rose and paige’s parents smuggled the two sisters out and sent them away as refugees

leia found them and paige told them they had no home anymore because their planet was dead. leia said “I understand” and took them into the resistance

they have been loyal to the cause ever since

rose, originally hating all first order members, started to see paige’s point of view about the stormtroopers-- that it wasn’t their fault

this is further solidified by rose and finn’s friendship

losing paige was the single most devastating loss of her life
