( cis woman | she/her | freya mavor ) —— isn’t that lorna-elizabeth “lizzie” bell? yeah that is them, outside the three broomsticks! they used to be in hufflepuff but apparently they now work as a junior healer at the derwent pharmacy and health centre. sybill once said that they reminded her of half burnt matches; dandelion fluff; scattered daisy petals; buttercup glow; forgotten cups of tea scattered around a room; a half knitted scarf, knitted badly; lace trimmed socks. which seems about right. anyway i’ve heard they’re still a bit melodramatic, jealous and forgiving, they’re twenty five now but some things never change! i wonder how being a muggleborn is affecting them after school, especially now they’re neutral? i guess only time will tell...

“hey, it’s okay, what did you see?” he questioned his tone was light, despite everything happening around them he wanted to make it as easy for them as he could, “let me help?”
❝ i’m okay , i’m okay ❞ she answers quick as she can , waving away any attempt at fussing or gentle questions . she had a job to do , only normally that job was seeing to people after the damage had been done , not to be caught up in the middle of it . liz hadn’t been lying . she really was okay . overwhelmed and close to freaking out ? sure ! but compared to what was around them ? okay was the only word for it . ❝ i’m the one that’s meant to be helping , i’m a healer — this is my job ❞

she'd just taken a minute to catch her breath in all this , a normal shift at the derwent thrust into complete and utter bedlam , and already she was starting to feel guilty for stopping even for a second . starting to feel eyes of concern on her . ❝ before you ask : i’m fine . if you’re here for help , i’m here for you ❞
the episkey made his ribs ache a little less, likely one or two had been broken but the bruise would remain unless she had a quick fix for that too. healers really amazed him, meant to fix any spell gone wrong, all wounds — he respected it. he noticed her eyeing the dark mark but she said nothing so neither did he. it would be impossible for her to have never seen one before, he’d been told she was neutral enough for it not to matter and he expected the same level of care as anyone else. so far so good on that bit at least. “no, i’d suppose not.” he let her work then until she asked him a question. “yes but it’s more like a tingle than pressure really.” best to be honest in this instance.
it was almost a dour note she hummed as her brow creased a little at his answer , not the one she’d been wanting to hear but progress nonetheless . something was always better than nothing . ❝ and you weren’t even getting that before ? we’ve not found the fix yet but we’re on the right track then ❞ you had to claim the little victories these days , claw them back as much as you could , and she felt she owed the other as much as to keep him informed as to his care . things felt all together safer that way . ❝ things would be a lot easier if we had more of a clue as to what we’re dealing with , is it okay with you if i try to clean things up a little to see if we can find anything that gives us any clarity ? it could hurt . i can give you something for the pain if you don’t think you could manage it but knowing if something hurts of if it stays numb could be another clue ❞
The benefit to all of this, the reason Jamie’s even bothered coming out to the arse-end of nowhere, is that it keeps the worst of his behaviour secret from the rest of his family. He plays the role of middle child very well, having always felt like a disappointment to both his father and his siblings, so if he can keep the news of yet more self-inflicted injuries from them… well, it just makes good sense to do so.
He looks decidedly uncomfortable as he steps over the threshold into Lizzie’s home, but that’s nothing new - it’s like he never learned how to exist in the world, so strangely ill-at-ease everywhere he goes. “That’s no what-” Jamie starts, before abruptly realising she’s teasing - not that he can imagine she’d ever want him in her flat without a valid medical reason for being there. “I didna start it, if that counts for anythin’. Bawbag pushed me.”
as soon as he’s stepped into the place she moves to shut and lock the door , no need for any prying eyes to catch any possible looks . not like there’d be anyone nosing about in a place like this but her neighbours but its something she’d long learned her clients appreciated . and then it’s biting her tongue not to laugh as her attempt at a joke doesn’t quite land with him , rather the point shot over his head for a moment . a sympathetic look settling over her features as instead liz offers ❝ if you head straight on you’ll get the living room , its not really a big enough place to get lost in . and don’t worry about leaving a mess ❞ one quick tap of her wand against the lock and she was quick behind him . ❝ so should i see the other fellow then ? take it he’s rather worse for wear than you are ? ❞
sloane willed herself in through the doorway by the guidance of the kind woman who had come to the door to save her. a guardian angel, of sorts. ❝ i’m sorry i woke you — ❞ she at least assumed that much based on the outfit choice of the other. it was nearly dawn so sloane shouldn’t have been surprised, but she hadn’t been thinking about much else in the last few hours. ❝ um — my head hit the ground first, cobblestone. petrificus, at that. then it was the, um, ❞ she motioned to her face and the scarring already appearing on her chest. sloane was trying to remember all that happened to provide the other with enough information to help her. really, sloane just needed somewhere to stay while the hexes effects wore off. she just needed somewhere safe, and hoped this place would be it.
its with a kick that lizzie shuts the door , not wanting to let the girl be for even that quick a moment so as to shut and bolt the door . she could fuss with locks later , after the poor dear was seen to and resting . ❝ nonsense . i’m here to help no matter the hour , i’d rather actually lose sleep than figuratively over the thought of someone not coming just because of the hour ❞ guiding the young thing to her sofa and helping her down as she spoke , only then leaving her be once liz was sure her legs weren’t about to fall out from under her . head injury , she’d need to check for a possible concussion . petrificus , lingering stiffness was to be expected then . and the scarring … she knew some spells that would help hasten them fading but nothing that would do the trick like her aunties old standby , a bottle of tcp . and she always had one tucked away in her bag , even if it was a bit too muggle for most of the wix that passed under her roof . ❝ you can lie down if you like ? and if you’re comfortable with it i can start disinfecting some of the stings ? don’t want them to fade but leave you with an infection ❞ kneeling by the side of the sofa now , having fetched her supplies . ❝ i’m lizzie by the way , but you don’t need to give me a name if you don’t want to ❞

❝ how’s my favourite fellow doing , he behaving ? ❞ liz chirped with a beam of a smile and eyes cast towards the illustrious lord stair . ❝ oh and you too , dmitry , are you keeping well ? ❞
“ i don’t understand why you have to look at it . it doesn’t hurt . or it does a little , but i’m not going to die . ”
❝ because you’re obviously in pain despite what you’re saying , and the fact you’re hiding that it hurts means it’s likely something bad . if you want help you just have to ask for it , you need to ask for it ❞
