after deciding to take a break with het cdramas, i just got sucked into the first jasmine, which features Ye Li, a girl who came down from rustic scholarship in the secluded mountain to discover that her arranged marriage to a cool successful prince was downgraded to an arranged marriage to the outcast disabled (unrelated) prince whose older brother was executed for treason. we (along with the said prince, who's played by the same guy who did xiahou dan in how dare you, and who has a tragique past and everything, but honestly her shit is just much more interesting) consequently find out that she might look like a manic pixie dream girl, but actually she a) has an alligator trap of the mind for blackmail, manipulation and fucking with people, b) does voluntary morning runs and c) might actually be not quite compos mentis, or, to put it simply, be very much cuckoo bananas. it's all extremely entertaining, and while i'm generally aboard with the romance (Ye Li clearly likes her mopey husband, or at least finds him pretty), i'm a bit sad they wouldn't be arranged-marriaged-besties-in-crime, as is my lifelong trope dream. but still!

i think we need copyright reform. currently most works are protected by copyright for the life of the author plus 70 years. here are my two proposals.
