Wedding
Since the last time I blogged, I have shot a wedding, which I’ve used as the beginning of my wedding portfolio...
Progress
It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything, (as I’ve said before I have a tendency to not blog, but I’m trying to change).
But I have made some progress with my company.
I will explain in further posts
Website
I’ve now set up my own website, featuring my photography portfolios...
www.leearonphotography.co.uk
It’s been a while since I last come on here, that’s because I haven’t been taking many photographs, but as it’s Christmas, I’ve painted my mothers window for my Nephews, for when they visit. I painted their favourite characters building a snowman.
Organising
I’ve decided to finally organise my photo’s in Lightroom. (Turns out I’ve taken over 15000 photo’s in the last 5 years). This should make accessing my photo’s a lot easier.
Today I decided to have a go at retouching my photo's (or airbrushing), I've dabbled with a few basics before, by removing the odd wrinkle, or spot, but this time I tried a few more techniques. I am pleased with the overall result, considering I was just giving it a quick go. If I'd spent a little longer working on it, I'd work on the forehead a bit more, try and smooth out the slight patches I can see.
This is a photo of my Dad I took in October (playing with my new flash gun), I’ve always loved portraits using minimal lighting focusing only on the face.
I’d taken a few portraits on that day, but today was the first time I decided to work on this one, I’ve been playing with different ways of editing my photos. Today I decided to use the dodge and burn tools in Photoshop (I’ve seen many people use this effect, so I’ve decided to give it a go) . I do like this effect, so I’d like to develop on this more, maybe on more than just the face.
The beginning
As a big fan of photography, I’ve decided to try and make a living out of it. although I’ve been making photographs for over 5 years (since obtaining my first DSLR), they predominantly consisted of portraits of family members (mostly my nephews) or Landscapes.
I love all aspects of photography, so I don't necessarily want to pigeon hole myself into one.
Again i’ve been taking photo’s for over 5 years, but, I’ve only ever gone out specifically to take photo’s I’ve planned to take, so recently I’ve decided to take my camera out whenever I leave the house, for the opportunity to shoot more pictures and develop my portfolio.
Also I’ve recently bought a set of portable lights, as the lighting can make a huge difference in how the photo can look, and I’ve finally invested in an external flash gun, and I’m now experimenting on my portrait images to strengthen my portfolio.
I’ve never been the one for blogging, I’ve had one during my years at uni, but never used it as I should have. So this time I’ll be making a conscious decision to blog as often as I can, when I create new pictures, or developing my techniques to create differing styles (again not to focus on one style of photography)
To help inspire me to create diverse images, I’ve signed up to many image sharing sites, I upload a few photo’s to my Instagram account, but I tend to use that for my drawings.
So I’ll be using this blog to share my photographs as they develop.
