WITCHES FOR QUEER RIGHTS

Original post
When I as younger, I was always too afraid of playing the girl character or watching shows like Winx Club cause I thought it made me less of a man. I'm making FLY because masculinity should not be taught through the means of suppressing femininity. Young men have a lot to learn from women in their lives. If you want more from the world of FLY Back us on Kickstarter!!
A coming of age story about Black kids who finally have power to fight back against systems designed against them.
I made this comic around the time I started developing characters for FLY. It came from a time I wore a pink shirt in 5th grade and my peer told me I wasn’t supposed to be “pretty”
Through the overwhelming love I’ve received there were a few notions that I noticed in all the noise. One especially concerning is this idea that boys should not be portrayed in ways that have anything to do with femininity. But I believe there is a world where boys can be loved for all the colors, be soft, be strong, be bold. And know that the things the love never make them any less of a man. I made fly for the black boy in me that was afraid to where pink. I want that kid to soar.

Before Pride Month comes to an end, I wanted to memorialize my husband unintentionally calling me a bisexual failure at the start of the month. (We laughed about it later, and I wasn't really offended!)
Side note: Thank you for looking at my art! I actually read every note and comment (though I'm a bit shy and don't always respond). I don't think I'll ever stop being surprised and grateful that my silly doodles make others happy. :)
Important video to share!
@creatingblackcharacters
So what's crazy is I don't have tiktok, but this video just happened (✌🏾✌🏾) to come across my FB and....yeah. everything she said is facts. I didn't know they mutilated Helen in the movie to punish her.... It may have been quite some time since my Odyssey run but em... I don't recall that happening!! 100% I believe part of her casting was to spark a Helen of Troy-esque racist media war. Antiblackness sells! Negative attention is attention!
With Rhaena, I'm on the fence. To me, it makes sense that she'd look that rough because she's in a situation where she doesn't know what to do and with no one to stand with her. Cutting off her locs to hide her white hair makes sense, especially because no one is maintaining all that on the run. But it does seem like she's being placed into harder circumstances than her combo of characters implies she should be, in a way her white counterparts just... Aren't. They've made Alicent far kinder, apparently!
And as for Louis, Claudia, and Armand? Yeah. The Islamophobia with Armand? Check. The antiblackness with Louis? Check. A white woman being the author of this last episode and how it is clear that she was having so much fun with the violence that she clearly did not consider (or maybe even just believes in) what this all looks like? Check!!! Like I said. It all passes far beyond a lack of intent, and pours all into blatant disregard and disrespect.
Great video!
