I gazed upon your creativity as though it spoke for your entirety,

Captivated by the beauty of your melody I was blind to your truth,

I should have known then that you couldn’t truly love me,

Still, I took it upon myself to melt into your cracks to seal up your wounds,

I just wanted you to see how beautiful you could be if you stopped bleeding for a moment,

I wanted to fill you up with love and place you in front of a mirror,

I longed for you to see your worth so you could stop invalidating the worth of others,

To understand your value and to appreciate your humanity,

You accepted my love but ignored my needs,

You needed my support but rejected my scars,

You fed me your pain and left me alone to digest it,

You opened up enough to release your demons,

But not enough to provide me with the honesty I deserved,

When I came to you with my own traumas you scorned me,
