a voice that speaks the truth ft. @legallysera dated: one year ago, freshman year
it's moments like this when she finds herself missing gwangju. sure it's a city just like seoul is, but she can't help but feel intimidated by all the people who are from here. of course, it's beneficial for her in some ways. for one, she's able to get merch on her own without anyone from her hometown noticing her. it's also a good place to help practice her seoul dialect so she doesn't sound like a country bumpkin, though there's nothing wrong with sounding like one. but coming from a city that she's lived in all her life to being in the big city all on her own for her first year of university...
she's glad that she can have a brand new start... but being an introvert, it's like, where can she begin?
orientation alone isn't enough to help her socialize with others. sure, she's in the anime club, so now she's able to talk to others about jjk. but it's a shame that she's found another place where she has to put on a mask to gain attention or any sort of connection. as she's walking around campus, she can't help but envy the pre-established connections people have already made with others. students walking with friends to classes, a group eating lunch together at a table, a boy on his phone saying he'll be late to class...
all of a sudden, she stops in her steps as she notices a girl walking by her on the plaza. but she's not looking at the girl specifically (though her water bottle is cute and the way she styled her hair is neat), but rather... an assortment of stickers. stickers of miles edgeworth and phoenix wright from ace attorney.
with her fair time on the internet (and having other mutuals who are as perverted as her), she's seen the pairing often on her timeline and dashboard. she's never played the game before because she's too busy brainrotting over her current hyperfixations, but she's had many mutuals write fics, draw fanart, and even headcanon about them often that she knows tidbits. she couldn't help but feel... comforted at the sight of them. so much so that she's mentally gaining the courage to turn back to talk to the girl who seems preoccupied by something.
"e-excuse me!" she calls out to the girl, following after her. when the girl turns around to face her, sooha puts on a small smile as she points at the water bottle timidly. "i like your stickers. they look really cute. i just wanted to let you know." god, she sounds like such a weirdo. hopefully the girl doesn't just awkwardly smile and walk away.
sera wonders how long it will take for her to actually know where she’s going. she’d managed to find her class that morning, and was only five minutes late, having arrived at the wrong building initially. she’d even managed to find the cafeteria for lunch, though that had been less challenging — it’d been as simple as following the crowd of hungry-looking students.
now, however? she’s embarrassed to even admit it to herself, but she’s gotten so turned around that she can’t remember which way her dorm is. which she probably should know by now, having spent a week here already, but hey— it’s not her fault there’s too many buildings! she might be a city girl, but she’s not used to attending a campus that’s anywhere near this huge.
her steps are aimlessly going in circles around the plaza at this point, a sour expression on her face as she’s about to admit defeat and ask for directions, however embarrassing that might be. before she gets the chance to look for someone who might know (like a senior. god, they probably know so much by now. or even better, a grad student), sera hears a voice coming from behind, causing her to whirl around in surprise.
“oh. hi!” her eyes slightly widen, though she’s sporting a grin as she studies the unfamiliar girl in front of her. her eyes go even wider at the girl’s compliment, and sera can barely contain her own excitement — she almost wants to jump up and down like some toddler who just got promised candy for dinner.
“oh my god, really?!” stepping forward, she envelops the girl in a hug — without stopping to think about if it’s a bit too much, to just hug a stranger like that. well, in sera’s opinion, they’re practically best friends now, because so far, no one else on campus had recognized her stickers.
(assuming the girl even recognized them, or just thought the art style was neat. she didn’t exactly specify, but sera will let herself get her hopes up.)
“thank you so much!” she exclaims as she lets the girl go, grinning widely. “so do you know ace attorney then? it’s like, my favorite thing ever. well, that and legally blonde! but phoenix and miles are definitely my favorite fictional couple.” sera doesn’t care that it’s not technically canon — to her, it is, and that’s more than enough.
airing out laundry // starter for @legallysera
regret, despair, embarrassment, humiliation - only the avatar kangmin can master all four elements and bring imbalance to his world.
he doesn't know how, he thinks he might really have to go for an eye-test soon, check in with an ophthalmologist about his eyesight because once is an accident, but twice is a catastrophe. he has no idea how this had even happened; he'd been so careful too. maybe kangmin should stop dating people with similar names as his friends altogether, that way he'd be able to avoid this from ever happening again (sending his less than savory photos to someone else).
with a sigh he leans against the laundry machine, puffing out his cheeks, as he goes through his contact list. damn, avoiding people with names similar to that of his friends might be hard. the washing machine whirrs, loud in the laundry room, and kangmin can't help but lift his eyes from his phone.
it's oddly quiet tonight, usually he'd be in the company of someone else, someone he can share his woes with. and as if on cue, he notices a familiar figure walk into the laundry room, and immediately kangmin's waves her over. yes, this is exactly who he needed to see at this very moment. a voice of reason, a pragmatist, someone logical, someone he can go to for advice - sera, of course (kangmin's never been the best at describing people).
"sera, i need your help!" he says aloud.
clearly nothing can go wrong.
kim sera has a few enemies in this world. a few notable ones being the dm of the dungeons and dragons’ club current campaign, her media & technology professor who refuses to let her be right, ever, the passage of time… and so on.
but the biggest enemy of them all? laundry.
there’s little else she hates more than having to do her laundry, and so she puts it off. which, perhaps unsurprisingly, is not the best idea. because now here she is at almost midnight, with weeks worth of laundry piled up, almost nothing to wear other than mismatched pyjamas. and she has to do it all now, if she wants to have anything to wear tomorrow (and if there’s one thing she refuses to do, it’s borrow anything from olivia. she loves the girl to death, but there’s a terrifying lack of pink in her closet).
there is, however, something — or rather, a person — who tends to make doing laundry more bearable, and sera is praying to whatever mighty powers might exist that she’ll run into him tonight. if she’s gonna be stuck in the laundry room for what’s looking like hours, with how much she needs to wash, she wants to at least be entertained by some good gossip. and a good conversation partner, she supposes, but the gossip is definitely more important — she won’t even try to lie about that.
maybe god, or some other higher power, actually does exist, because the first thing she notices upon entering the dreaded laundry room, is kangmin’s voice. gaze immediately finds his, a grin forming as she spots him waving her over.
“oh my god, thank god you’re here.” she lets her basket filled to the brim with clothes fall to the floor with a loud thud, as she stops by the laundry machine next to his. she should probably get started on loading her clothes in already, but she doesn’t want to. she’d much rather be hearing about whatever it is kangmin needs help with — and no, she can’t simply just do both! listening to gossip requires her full attention.
“what’s up?” she asks, then remembers what had been… up (in more ways than one, unfortunately) the last time he’d asked her for advice. uh oh. “you didn’t send someone else your dick, right?” she slightly raises her right eyebrow at him. “please tell me you didn’t do that.”

nayul looked down at the book in her lap like it might offer her some excuse for why she'd been staring at the same sentence for what must've been five minutes straight. "oh, it's not… it's not that good," the words slipped out almost sheepishly. she'd be lying if she said she wasn't at least a little bit embarrassed by this. "well, it is, but i've read it before. a couple of times before, actually. i just… brought it with me because it looks like i'm preoccupied." she thumbed the edge of the page, keeping her place in a story she wasn't really reading.
her voice grew a little steadier as she went on, though still quiet in a way that felt almost apologetic. "sorry. i must've looked really out of it. i didn't mean to ignore you." she offered a faint smile to reassure sera it wasn't personal. while she was still a little socially awkward, she always made an effort whenever someone spoke to her. she just had a bad habit of drifting too far into her head when things got quiet. nayul adjusted slightly so that she wasn't still curled in on herself. "um… it's a collection of short stories," she explained, angling the cover just enough for sera to see without leaning too far into her space. "a bit of comfort reading, i guess."
for a moment, she simply sat there with the book balanced on her knee as she looked back up at sera. but then the gears started turning in nayul's head, listing out potential reasons for why sera's speaking to her. "you're usually running somewhere or talking to someone." there was a brief pause as she weighed the words in her head before speaking. "so... what brought you here? did you… need something?" she asked finally, her voice filled with curiosity. she couldn't quite narrow down the particular reason, but she wasn't about to shoo away some company either.
“really?” sera says, eyebrows raising in disbelief. she’s about to argue — it can’t possibly not be that good, if it caught mayuki’s attention to this extent — though the older contradicts herself before sera is able to. “see, i knew it had to be good!” there’s a grin, somewhat triumphant at being right, however pointless the thing she’d been right about may be. she’ll take any win she can get!
sera frowns slightly at mayuki’s next words. “are you okay?” she leans forward slightly, eyes narrowing as she’s attempting to study her friend, trying to see if anything is amiss — other than her being distracted. “why are you sitting here if you’d rather be left alone?” well, the recreation room is currently empty, so suppose it’s not a terrible idea, but you’re bound to run into someone here eventually. “do you have a roommate you’re avoiding?”
she falls quiet for a moment (truly, a rare occurrence for sera), eyes lingering on the book in mayuki’s lap. her gaze scans over the cover, though it still doesn’t seem familiar (and, if she’s being honest, perhaps not something she’d be interested in. which is fine!). though she’s soon invited to speak again, and you never have to ask sera twice.
“oh, mayuki, i thought you’d never ask!” she lets out a dramatic sigh, throwing herself back against her seat, head falling back, nearly hitting the wall. “i am so bored. i’m pretty sure no one has ever been this bored before, ever. like, in the history of humanity.” so she’s exaggerating, juuuust a little bit, but that’s truly how she’s been feeling all day! no one’s been paying her any attention, in the slightest!” then, she sits up slightly, glancing back at mayuki, a silent plea in her eyes.
“will you hang out with me? pleeeeeeease?”

Once again, thank you so much for the amazing three months and we hope you have fun with this meme!
burn it
things get a little spicy between soyi and @legallysera at the bonfire so they decide to cool off in the lake and totally not participate in gay activities.
soyi has a tendency to get bored easily. however, her reputation is important. participating in school-wide activities is very important to improving her renown at yeonhwa, and eventually achieving her goals of ascending to the top of the social totem pole. and political totem pole. anything that gives her power, really.
however, after about 45 minutes of sitting around the bonfire, she's about ready to do something else. she doesn't want to go to sleep, and she doesn't want to wander on a hiking trail alone, or anything like that, so she isn't sure what to do.
maybe she just needs to switch things up a little. she peers around the campfire, then spots an open seat beside sera. sera is, at the very least, interesting, so she decides to hop up from her own seat and plop down beside sera without even asking her if someone else is sitting there.
"i'm convinced lee eunho has hooked up with at least two girls here already," she says, without offering a proper hello or introduction. she moves her head in the direction of where the guy is sitting so sera knows where to look. there's a girl that keeps giggling at what he's saying sitting next to him.
"that's girl number two," she states confidently, like it's a proven fact. "number one is..." she squints as she tries to recall her name. "i can think of her face but not her name. she's blonde. hangs out with him a lot but acts like she hates him...?" she looks back to sera for assistance. surely she can count on her to know her name.
“hmm?” sera looks up from her phone, immediately perking up at the presence of another person next to her. honestly, who would have thought the bonfire would be this boring? so far, all she’s got to show for it is enough alcohol running through her bloodstream to make her more than just a little bit tipsy, and hair that smells like smoke. great fucking stuff, truly.
safe to say, sera has been spending the past ten minutes or so glued to her phone, due to the lack of… well, anything really, happening around her. at least the cute pictures she kept adding to her pinterest boards were more entertaining than her fellow yeonhwa students, at least at the moment.
the fact that it’s soyi who’s sat down next to her is promising, though. out of all her friends and acquaintances, sera isn’t sure she knows a better gossip than her. and, sure enough, there’s no pleasantries, no ‘hello, how’s your day going’ — just straight into it. “what, really?” sera’s eyes widen, gaze following the direction of soyi’s head.
she’s right. lee eunho is sitting not too far from where sera last saw him, but with a different girl than last time. did she really miss that much while glued to her phone? huh. maybe ancient people do have a point when they say kids these days spend too much time on that damn phone.
“oh my god.” she looks back at soyi, giggling. “yeah, earlier i saw him with park s… soojin? i think that’s what her name is. damn, he moves fast.” another quick glance in his direction, though this proves to be a mistake. the girl he’s with now, whoever she is, is staring right back at her, as if she knows they’re talking about her. had sera really been that loud…? she’s got too much alcohol in her system by now to properly judge the volume of her own voice.
“oops.” she suddenly whirls into motion, grabbing for soyi’s hand to drag her along. “i think we’ve been caught. lets…” she briefly trails off, just double checking whether the girl is still glaring — yep, she sure is. well, that settles it: sera needs to get away from here, at least for now. she’s not about to fight some girl over some man she could not care less about.
“lets run.” her tone is decisive now, hand still clutches around soyi’s. after giving the older a moment to react, sera starts moving, jogging away from the bonfire, in the direction of the lake.
emergency ft. song hera @heracules
“eeeeeeeeeek!”
sera’s scream is loud, voice possibly carrying across half the camp (briefly, for half a second, she wonders if she could’ve made it big as a vocalist if she tried— though the thought doesn’t get to linger), arms flailing frantically around herself as she tries to shake off whatever is currently crawling up her arm. she thinks it’s a spider, but honestly? no way in hell is she brave enough to check, she just wants this thing to leave her personal space, now.
really, she should have expected this to happen during a weekend spent in the woods, a place she can only imagine will positively be crawling with bugs (seriously, why couldn’t yeonhwa have planned for the MT to take place at a spa, or something!?). though, call her an optimist, but she hadn’t expected it to happen this soon, practically immediately after getting off the bus.
though, perhaps — a blessing in disguise, in some way. the bus just having dropped them off means the parking lot is crawling (hah! pun not intended, except it kind of totally is) with fellow students, meaning someone is bound to be able to save her from this pesky creature. not that she really has the luxury of choice, however, as she can feel the spider’s tiny, hairy legs still crawling up her arm, causing her to let out another scream, before very nearly jumping into the arms of the person unlucky enough to stand closest to her.
it’s not so much jumping into their arms as it is sera dramatically clinging onto them for dear life, eyes tightly shut in fear.
“please!” she pleads, arms tightly squeezing around whoever is destined to be her savior. the crawling seems to maybe — knock on wood — have subsided, for now, and so she dares to open one eye to peek up at whoever she’s holding onto for dear life.
“is it—” she starts, then freezes.
oh.
my.
god!
her grip immediately loosens, stumbling a couple steps backwards, spider momentarily forgotten. because, well, her savior? song fucking hera. this is so embarrassing, sera barely knows what to do with herself — is it too late to just make a run for it? probably not, but that could potentially make this even more humiliating for her — it’s not as if she can just choose to avoid hera the rest of her life.
“oh, uh… unnie! i’m sorry, there was…” a pause, as she glances down at her arm. no spider visible at the moment, but she can’t be sure it’s truly gone. “uh, spider. so sorry for the, uh… hug?” she looks back up at hera, grimacing.
lost & found ft. omura takahiro @sutetaraii
kim sera might be a small girl (she likes to argue she’s not that small — 161 cm is a perfectly average height! all the people who are towering over her are just abnormally tall!), but she has a big heart, with a lot of love to give! it’s a common occurrence for her, really, to have a new crush every week (though there has been one constant for months now, not that she really wants to admit that to herself! in her head, it’s barely even a crush). usually she tends to fall for the TA’s, dreaming of romantic moments with them akin to elle’s relationship to emmett in legally blonde, something olivia has gotten to hear a lot about over the past year and a half. her crushes tend to be fleeting, usually passing within a week or so, before she moves on to someone else.
her newest crush in her long line of crushes, though, is… different. hiro. sera wants to think this one actually has a chance. it has to, right? they’d kissed, or well, more like a heated make-out session, which had been interrupted way too soon, at least sera had been hoping it would go on, perhaps even further. after getting just a tiny bit handsy with each other, one of hiro’s friends had dragged him away, leaving sera by herself, just a little bit hot and bothered. she’d tried finding her way back to him, hoping to possibly leave with him, but came up empty. perhaps he’d left, maybe his friend had some sort of crisis — sera wasn’t sure, but she does wish she could have at least gotten his contact information before parting ways.
though, at the very least, she’d been certain she would run into him again, as she knows he’s a fellow yeonhwa student. as classes inch closer, sera is on high alert, scanning every crowd for his familiar, handsome face (she’d also tried to remember to look for him during the MT, but — safe to say — she’d been more than just a little bit distracted that weekend). today, she feels certain she’s going to see him. first day of classes, there’s no way he’s not around campus, right? she might not know his major, but she is determined to find him.
sera had imagined a lot of different scenarios in her head for their second meeting that day, each one more romantic, slightly more dramatic than the other, but she hadn’t really imagined this — leaving the bathroom after breakfast in the cafeteria, only to nearly run directly into him in the hallway.
time stands still, for a moment, as she gathers her bearings, head tilting back to look up at the person she just collided with. her mouth falls open as she recognizes him (how is it possible that he’s even more handsome in better lighting?!), and there’s a beat as she remains standing still, blinking.
then, she quickly whirls back into action. “oh my god! hiro!” her voice is a touch loud, considering they’re the only two people in this hallway, no other sounds disrupting them. “so sorry, i wasn’t looking where i was going.” she lifts her hand, gently stroking his chest, as if to make sure that her head colliding with it hadn’t somehow damaged it (and if her hand lingers for a moment too long, that’s fine, right? he had made out with her a couple of weeks prior, after all!).
“buuuuut.” hand lowering, gaze lifting to meet his, a playful smirk playing on her lips. “maybe it’s fate, that we run into each other like this! it’s romantic, isn’t it?” she lets out a giggle. “feels fitting, after our last meeting.”
Bro is tired
something about being out in the open world, taking a break from it all, was good for her, maybe. she had been having a hell of a few weeks, and to say she needed something to save her was putting it so, so lightly.
little did she know it was dragging sera around with her at not even 6am to go for a morning jog. it's the little things. warm morning air. sera's little ruffled: unnieeeee's. the way it feels to jog and let it all go.
she stretches too, following sera's lead (she would have forgotten otherwise), jogging ahead (just a few stretch is good enough right? no need for the whole routine), and then pausing to jog in place. garam points roughly the direction they were headed just as sera is catching up and it is crazy how garam can already sense the danger. danger to her ego in that little smirk. "i..." she squints. "now sera. do i seem like the type to take such a bet? when the odds are so far out of my favor?"
she pumps her legs to jog just that little bit faster (not so subtle), and her grin goes a bit wild and bright, "wait, wait; what do i get when i win?" she's side by side with sera at least now, so she won't start at disadvantage. of course the whole race is a disadvantage for her but, she'll make it work. "i get to take you to the next football game." she wagers; "it's boring alone... what's your bet?" she asks a bit innocently...
but then she takes off as fast as she can (probably won't be fast enough but a girl has got to try, got to dream; garam can't give up to save her life besides, even when it's a losing race). she pulls away for at least a little bit, with the lake in sight but more than far enough away that she has little faith she'll make it. pessimism and endless urge to do the damn things; why are they always at war in her?
her steps fall into place alongside garam’s — they’re barely moving, for now, jogging in place but taking just the tiniest steps forward. sera is fully turned towards her friend, a playful smirk remaining on her face as she hums, pretending to think. though there is a grin spreading that betrays her.
“yes? why not!” she laughs, nearly giggles. “you love me, don’t you? are you going to tell me you don’t love me enough to give me every opportunity to win?” she squints her eyes, though lips are still stretched wide. “maybe my confidence needs it today!” (it doesn’t. god knows it never does.)
they’re moving forward now, which sera takes as a sign garam will actually take her up on the bet. still grinning, she keeps her pace somewhat slow, enough to be able to comfortably talk, and maybe instill her best friend with some form of false confidence before she beats her. “what!?” sera’s gaze shoots over at garam, eyebrows raised in something akin to horror. “why!? agh, unnie, you know i hate sports!” (track doesn’t count, of course!) she lightly bumps her shoulder into garam’s. “why do you need to go to a football game, anyway? what’s in it for you?” her eyes squint, as she’s studying her friend, somewhat suspicious of her intentions.
“oh, my bet? hmm…” she trails off, gaze moving away from garam, looking up at the sky instead, a touch dreamily. “i think i waaaant…” there’s no opportunity to make demands, because suddenly, garam is no longer next to her, but running up ahead. that sneaky, sneaky girl! it takes sera a moment of shock before she properly realizes she’s been tricked.
“hey, not fair!” she yells out, before setting off in a sprint. it doesn’t take long for her to surpass garam, and sera sends a triumphant smile over her shoulder. she had been planning on taking it slow, but if garam isn’t going to play fair, neither is she!
it’s easy, familiar — the feeling of her feet hitting the ground as she runs. the way her breath burns in her chest as she pushes herself to top speed is almost a comfort. sera doesn’t like sports, but track is different — it’s become her favorite way to decompress, to relieve all the built-up energy in her body.
she’s fallen into a familiar rhythm, likely far ahead of garam at this point (she hasn’t bothered with another glance over her shoulder, yet), when her gaze falls on something — or rather, someone — that almost causes her to stop dead in her tracks. noeul is sitting on the other side of the lake (sera doesn’t want to talk about the fact that she recognized his face from that far away, by the way. something about the curse of having 20/20 vision), and the sight of him makes her slow down, into a pace that’s more a walk than a run. if garam passes her, she doesn’t notice — it’s almost as if time stands still, the only things that exist are her, noeul, and the enormity of the lake between them.
hiiii, it is me! listen... i know i owe like 500 replies across all my muses (i promise i'm working on them), so i kind of have no business doing a plot call BUT i would still love to get some stuff going for the new event!! rather than doing a separate post for all my muses, consider this a plot call for all of them... i'm just lazy, and not all three of my children will be as active during the event. anyway! please leave a like if you'd like to plot something for the event, or alternatively just slide into my dms (either here or on d*scord @ naweyn. i'm not online on micah or sera's blogs very often, so would reply very slowly!) under the cut i will leave some event headcanons/plot ideas for each of my muses, and will cross these out as they're taken! ♡
YERIM
sits next to agatha on the bus ride there.
claimed one of the treehouses as her own personal sanctuary, and spends most of the weekend hiding out in there. kind of doesn't really want to be here in the first place so she'd at least like some peace and quiet. maybe someone is trying to use the same one, and they have to either fight over it or coexist?
attended one yoga session on saturday, but quicky realized she hated doing yoga outside, so she didn't attend another. might have even left early tbh.
definitely would take charge during dinner preparations. she's not about to let her idiot classmates ruin her meal.
goes paddling with joon on saturday against her better judgement but ends up having a surprisingly good time.
owns at trivia tbh... like she's gonna smoke the rest.
kind of doesn't do much else on account of not wanting to be there in the first place
sits with yua on the way back home!
MICAH
sits with miyeon on the bus ride to the camp!
the unofficial camp dad. he's brought extra of everything — bandaids, bug sprays, bandages, sunscreen, tissues, bottles of water, etc. etc. whatever u might need, he probably has it!!
also very willing to share his toiletries with those who fall victim to the thief lmao
definitely one of the first who will volunteer to form a search party if someone gets lost hiking
probably ends up doing most of the work while cooking if no one else wants to. just wants everyone to actually get to eat something LMAO. will share his meal if someone is in another department where the cooking doesn't go as well.
brought his camera and he's so willing to be someone's photographer if they happen to need one.
since he has his own room on account of being a grad student, he def has open doors if anyone needs to escape from their assigned roommates for whatever reason. wake him up in the middle of the night if u need to, he'll help u out
in general just kind of involved in everything i think!!
busy stargazing after the campfire... but goes back alone </3
sits with yujin on the way back to campus
SERA
sits with jiahn on the way to camp!!
someone save her from a bug. she's gonna be screaming bloody murder and maybe even jump into your muse's arm. and then the bug in question is just a tiny spider, a beetle or some shit
participates in the outdoor painting, and while everyone else is painting landscapes, her painting is just a pink mess. she proclaims herself the next picasso
yeah she's basically useless when it comes to cooking... she'll try the first day, but probably skip out on it the second day and try to either snag a plate without helping, or go leech off some other department. sorry fellow law people, but honestly it's for the best to not let her near the kitchen
participated in the trivia night and swore she'd win but probably flopped severely. cue her team being lowkey annoyed w her...
wakes up early on saturday to accompany garam on an early morning run to watch the sunrise. will likely be a bit cranky for at least a few hours after breakfast because of this
later on saturday, she gets lost on a hiking trail bc she swore she didn't need a map but she is directionally challenged and DID need that map. someone can maybe get lost with her, or be the one to find her
she is most definitely a snack thief. maybe someone catches her in the act? she would swear she's just investigating tho!!
speaking of investigating, she's probably trying to figure out who exactly is stealing ppl's stuff... bc like.. that's illegal? kdsjfslkmfs
most definitely participates in the drunken talent show. whether she has any actual talents to show off is debatable... someone tell her to shut up and stop singing screaming?
wakes up late lowkey hating her life on sunday. sits next to olivia on the bus ride back to campus!
don't worry, i'll make you worry ft. shin jiahn @prodbyzinnia
“unnie?” sera turns to look for jiahn, almost forgetting she’s holding a knife in her hand — she very nearly waves it around with her, but remembers at the last possible moment that she’s better off putting it down on the cutting board. her eyes meet the older’s, sera’s own eyes hopefully communicating to her friend that she needs help.
“is this the right size?” she asks as jiahn approaches, moving slightly to the side to give a better view of her cutting board. it’s filled with chopped vegetables, cut into varying sizes — sera doesn’t really believe that people are able to do this consistently without some kind of special tool, nor does she really understand why they all have to be the same size. they’re all going to be turned into mush when chewed, anyway, so what does it matter?
suppose it’s a good thing sera had so graciously volunteered jiahn to lead the pre-law department’s cooking, because she’s not sure anything would have gotten done on her part, at least, without some sort of guidance.
sera glances in between the chopped vegetables and jiahn, then over to the stove. “and what am i supposed to do now? do i cook it?” she pauses, considering. another glance at jiahn, her expression a touch sheepish. “…or should you maybe do that? i should probably remind you that i once burnt pasta.”
moment of truth ft. yoon jinyoung @lxckystrike
sera scans the crowd waiting for the bus, looking for a very specific someone. she’d woken up a few hours ago, with a splitting headache and very vague memories of the night before. she remembered kiwoo, searching for clues, something about stolen magnifying glasses? though as the hours passed, and she managed to get some food down (mostly due to olivia insisting it would make her feel better, and — begrudgingly, she’d been right, though sera wouldn’t admit it to her), the memories started returning in bits and pieces.
at this point, she’s got a pretty clear picture of exactly who she’s looking for. she’d asked olivia to join her to wait for the bus early (well… more like she’d practically dragged her roommate here), and has been camped out for well over an hour now, carefully considering each student that arrives. no luck so far, but she knows he’s bound to show up at some point.
she’s scrolling on her phone (only briefly distracted, she swears!), when olivia’s shoulder bumps into hers — whether by accident or on purpose, sera isn’t sure — causing her to look up. that’s when she sees him. their eyes lock from across the parking lot, and sera practically shoots up, nearly dropping her phone in the process (it wouldn’t have been the first time she potentially broke her screen protector). without as much as another word to olivia, she starts moving towards the other end of the lot, marching through the increasing crowd of people. she barely notices any of the people she’s passing, attention solely focused on her target.
“you!” she calls out once she’s within range of him, running the last bit of distance, accusing finger pointing at jinyoung’s chest once she makes it over to him. “you’re the thief!” her neck arches to look up at him (why is he so annoyingly tall? and she’s not wearing heels for once, making the height difference even more jarring), eyes squinting as she gives him an accusatory look.
“what do you have to say in your defense?”
because i (don't) like a boy ft. son noeul @engraveing
sera hates to admit it, but she spends most of her time in line for the breakfast buffet looking for noeul. she prides herself on being a strong, independent woman, all of that, but after the way their gazes locked onto each other from across the lake, with the sunrise as the backdrop? come on, that had just been downright romantic. so, naturally, she wants to seek him out… because maybe, just maybe, he finally sees her in the same way she swears she doesn’t see him?
unfortunately, though, she doesn’t see him. even tried asking around, despite the fact that it may have made her look desperate in some way. now that she’s standing at the end of the buffet table, paper plate filled with a spread that looks somewhat like a chaotic mess, looking out at the students scattered around the tables… she realizes she doesn’t actually want to sit with any of them right now. not after she’d just been going around asking people if they’ve seen a boy! she’s got a reputation to uphold (she doesn’t), and so she’d rather disappear from sight, for now.
instead of heading for one of the tables, sera takes her plate along with a small juice box of orange juice (which is totally better than apple juice, and she’ll fight anyone on that!). she doesn’t know where she’s going, not really, as long as it’s somewhere kind of secluded… it’s a strange feeling, but she thinks she wants to be alone? if only just for a moment. she’s wandering around the camp slowly, picking strawberries off her plate, when the idea hits her… the treehouses! she’s yet to check them out, but it sounds like the perfect place to go to be alone — especially when most students are still either asleep or grabbing breakfast.
there’s a satisfied grin on her face as she heads towards the treehouses. making it up the ladder with the plate in hand, without spilling anything, proves to be a challenge (only some of her scrambled eggs scatters to the floor, but honestly? she hadn’t been planning on eating those anyway. just adding some protein, or whatever, so her plate isn’t all sugar) — but she manages, raising her free arm triumphantly once she’s up in the treehouse. her eyes sweep over her surroundings — it’s downright cozy in here, it’s—
huh? that’s… eyes widening, she takes a few steps towards the figure lying in the mess of blankets and pillows. the shape of him had looked familiar from the start, and closer inspection just confirms what she’d already suspected — it’s… noeul. he’s been here the whole time?! and he’s… sleeping. sera can’t help it — and best believe she internally scolds herself for it — but a smile spreads on her lips, accompanied by a fond expression in her eyes. he looks… well, cute. he always does, she supposes, but especially now… he looks peaceful.
putting her plate down on the floor, she grabs her phone out of her pocket, and snaps a few pictures of him. she figures it’ll be useful, either for possible blackmail material (if she should ever need that, you never know!) or just some good, old-fashioned, wistful longing. once satisfied (she’d taken 7 pictures, all from different angles), she sits down on a blanket next to him, figuring she’ll enjoy her breakfast for however long it takes him to wake up.
