oh good lord i remember now why i stopped posting on this godforesaken hellsite
Frequent minibar-restock requests and refusal of maid service for several days also listed among "red flags" for human trafficking.
Heads up to sex workers who work in hotels, especially those who run incalls from them. Â
Included amongst âwarning signsâ that hotels are being urged to report are:
garbage cans containing many used condoms
frequent use of âDo Not Disturbâ sign on room door
excessive foot traffic in and out of a room
âexcessive sex paraphernaliaâ in room
an âoverly smelly roomâ that reeks of âcigarette, marijuana, sweat, bodily fluids, and muskâ
a guest who âaverts eyes or does not make eye contactâ
individuals âdressed inappropriate for ageâ or with âlower quality clothing than companionsâ
guests with âsuspicious tattoosâ
the presence of multiple computers, cell phones, pagers, credit card swipes, or other technology
the presence of photography equipment
minibar in need of frequent restocking
guests with too many personal hygiene products, especially âlubrication, douchesâ
guests with too few personal possessions
rooms paid for with cash or a rechargeable credit card
âindividuals loitering and soliciting male customersâ
âclaims of being an adult though appearance suggests adolescent featuresâ
refusal of room cleaning services for multiple days
Remember, the DHS seems to be taking a very large interest in busting sex workers of late, not just under cover of suspicion of human trafficking â it was Homeland Security that led the bust against RentBoy and MyRedBook. Â
Reblogging again bc this is important
Itâs human trafficking⊠it literally says that itâs human trafficking in the article.
In related news, if you write âbad personâ on your bullets, everyone you shoot with them is a bad person.
No, I donât believe prostituted women should be punished, I think theyâre in serious need of help. To be against sex work isnât against the sex worker, just like being anti child labor doesnât make you anti child. I think these women need to be saved from johns and pimps.
yes please save me from my nonexistent pimp also who the fuck calls clients johnâs anymore other then dumb terfs
I do do my research (tagged/prostitution, look at my tag before you reblog). Please donât call me a terf (Iâm not a TERF or SWERF) or call me a b*tch. It doesnât make people want to open up for meaningful discussion. Do you hear yourself? I literally said I wanted women to be protected from the industry.
Why are prostitutes supporting sex trafficking????
the 90% who are unsafe in prostitution should always be prioritised over the 10% who are privileged enough to draw personal benefit (this is a good example of liberal feminism, btw; throwing women WHO NEED TO ESCAPE FROM HUMAN TRAFFICKING under the bus so you can continue to feel some illusion of empowerment up in your âethicalâ âfeministâ ivory tower)
No, sorry, you canât pretend you care for safety in the industry you profit from and defend, thus belonging to a minority in said industry, when you see âdressed inappropriately for ageâ or âclaims of being an adult though appearance suggests adolescent featuresâ and make it out to be âthe government is trying to bust us, enthusiastic adult sex workersâ, and say shit like âunder cover of suspicion of human traffickingâ. Itâs just really fucking transparent, okay. These are really, really basic safety measures that can and do save trafficked individualsâ lives (and imo should be reinforced in all businesses):
âShelia Fedrick, 49, said she rescued a victim of human trafficking on a flight from Seattle to San Francisco. The Alaska Airlines flight attendant saw the disheveled teen sitting next to a well-dressed man.â / â[âŠ] when she noticed a teen, believed to be 14 or 15 years old, sitting in the window seat next to a well-dressed older man, NBC reported. Fedrick said the victim had greasy blond hair and looked like she âhad been through pure hellâ. It was the contrast between the two that raised a red flag.â (Source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4194128/Flight-attendant-saves-girl-human-trafficking.html)
since iâm particularly mad about the whining over tumblrâs restrictions right now! letâs recall this really isnât the first time tumblrâs ~sex workers~ mourn policies that could prevent child sexual abuse because it harms their business.
Iâve seen it several times. They donât want sex trafficking cracked down on because it might get in their way. They are truly selfish women who couldnât give a fuck about victims.
Actual feminists: âthis could save lives and help end sex traffickingâ
Selfish, overprivleged pieces of shit who think the world revolves around their ~*choice*~: âbutâŠbut what about ME and my job?â
Harsh but happening.
you know whatâs dumb about all the swerfs on this post? aside form all of the many things that have been said about the ways in which theyâre wrong, letâs pretend for *one second* that theyâre right: namely, that theyâre right in that a) homeland security is somehow capable of helping victims of trafficking and b) that the particular methods outlined above are themselves effective and positive.
itâs not true, but letâs just pretend.Â
all of the sex workers on this post are *helping* â if weâre *not* victims of trafficking, then *surely* figuring out how to avoid tripping the Pig Alarm is beneficial to all the real people in trouble? ****Surely**** youâd all want us to leave all those sweet, sweet cop resources for the people that really need them?
âŠunless you know just as well as we do that cops are scum that harm women, and youâd just rather they harm us.Â
^for a lot of words youâve managed to say absolutely nothing of value.
I see over and over against how prostitution should be either decriminalized or legalized to protect them better that way if their johns step out of line then cops can swoop in and help the poor women!!!
Then suddenly, law enforcement are the worst thing for sex trafficking victims and never any good for any women.
Quit being so melodramatic, we hate your industry and that women bend over backwards to defend patriarchal violence for money, that doesnât mean we want you dead.
Your feelings are wholly irrelevant here â I donât care if you want me or people like me dead. It matters very precisely zero if you want me or women generally to be happy, healthy and well.
Because despite what you may want, what you do (when you put marginalized people in the path of LE) is harm women. My apologies if there was any confusion â what you think is not under discussion here. Cops are, stastically speaking, the source of far more harm to ppl in the sex trades (however they got there) then anyone else (see my statistics tag for citations).
Because they think we're all escorts
Why the fuck would anyone even trying to freelance at this shithole. The owners shouldnât flatter themselves.
i'm a current fssw looking to transition into non-full service domme work. would you be able to point me to a few resources about transitioning to a different area of sw? there aren't a lot of dungeons in my area where i can start. all my domme skills would be from fssw and lifestyle experience.
to be totally frank, you already have pretty much all the skills youâll need. A dungeon that hires shift staff is extremely likely to take too much of your money and push you around â there are learning-to-manage-clients benefits that may make the tradeoff worth it when youâre just starting out, but those donât apply to you, an experienced sex worker. anyone who tells you you need to be virtuoso rope top or able to circus-crack a whip in order to make money spanking dudes is lying, probably to inflate their own ego (i mean, itâs always nice to have a party trick or two up your sleeve, but youâll be disappointed at how rarely youâll get to use it).
fetish clients are not materially different from fs clients, other than the general rule of clients which is: the less physical contact is baked into a session, the whinier, pushier, and cheaper the average client gets. the rules of the session are essentially the same â youâre providing a service to their fantasy, which in the case happens not to involve your genitals, rather than say, actually exchanging any power the way you might with a partner, if thatâs the sort of thing youâre into.Â
all you really have to do is figure out where to advertise. and maybe (only maybe) invest in a couple of new outfits.Â
i hope you get exactly what you want.Â
the comments on that article about hotel staff endangering s*x workers are so horrid, ppl really think s*x workers being collateral damage is ok
yeah, itâs almost like radical feminists are only concerned with the well-being of the people who fit their model of acceptable womanhood or something. wacky.Â
(and oh so *radical*)

How often do you have virgins as clients? And if not would you turn them down? I'm a virgin myself...
I want you to ask yourself: _why_ would a sex work give any fucks about the level of prior sexual experience a client has had or not had?Â
Also, thereâs no such thing as virginity.Â
not to defend the sad little clovers but have you ever had had one of those instructors/facilitators in a leisure activity (horseriding, ziplining etc) who seems viscerally offended by having to deal with a total beginner?
Actually, beginnerâs classes often cost more because the teaching is included, I know thatâs unlikely to be practical for you guys but itâs a thought
Realistically, Iâve had virgin clients whoâve told me so, virgin clients who have not but whom Iâve been pretty sure about, and clients who said they were but who I thought were fooling. Since sex isnât a skill in the same way that ziplining is, it doesnât really make a difference â theyâre as likely to be good or bad clients as anyone else (excepting the lattermost category who tend to be dicks).
Hey! How are you and your cat doing?
I HAVE TWO CATS NOW LIFE IS GOOD
heads up, heteronormative was coined by a biphobic terf
Iâm gonna need to see your badge, officer.
Seriously, PSA time: If anyone sees an anon like this â no context, no details, just a claim â donât respond to it. Donât even listen to it. Especially not without googling.
Itâs not even a question of whether or not they are RIGHT (though Iâll address that too). Itâs about the behavior pattern. What are they asking you to do when they send you an ask like this? Apologize, basically, and avoid the term. They want you to feel guilty, because they know if you feel guilty then youâll probably seek to âpurifyâ yourself by disclaiming the term, or deleting any recent post you mightâve reblogged. No discussion of whether the word âheternormativeâ has any utility â itâs a Bad Word and a Bad Person coined it so you should stop using it or youâre Bad.
Indulging that is NOT HEALTHY. Not for you, and not for any communities youâre a part of.
(Also, I wasnât kidding when I said âofficerâ, thereâs every chance the person who sent this is works for the FBI or some similar body, theyâve certainly sown shit in social movements before, and we make it so easy for them these days.)
â
Regarding the specific claim:
âHeteronormativityâ was coined by Michael Warner, a gay man and one of the founding figures of queer theory, in 1991. Heâs not really known as a feminist writer/activist, AFAIK, let alone a radfem, so he probably isnât a TERF. (Which stands for, say it with me now: Trans-Exclusionary/Exterminationist Radical Feminist). Anonâs either using that term wrong to begin with, or hoping that I wonât know the fucking difference.
Is he transmisogynist, though? Or biphobic, for that matter? Like, beyond that way in which most people are already both, including a lot of bisexuals and trans women who have internalized biphobia and transmisogyny?
Fucked if I know â I havenât exactly been keeping tabs on the guy. I was a child when he wrote is most famous stuff, and I stay pretty far from academic queer theory for the most part. Googling around a bit for his name, attached to words like âbisexualâ, âbisexualityâ, âbiphobiaâ, âbiphobicâ and anything with âTransâ in it doesnât yield much in the way of receipts.
Like. Thereâs some academic literature from bisexual theorists critiquing one aspect or another of academic queer theory, and they mention him in places, but itâs like. Pretty sedate on the topic. Itâs not a takedown or a callout (I canât find a goddamn thing like that in the first coupla pages of search results either). Theyâve just⊠read him, and they have stuff to say about his work. Some of it they take issue with, but itâs not like. Accusations of biphobia or transmisogyny.
Itâs not even a particularly vitriolic theory fight! I wish it was exciting but I want to go to sleep now just having read this shit. Itâs boring, plodding stuff. I tried reading deeper and I just donât fucking CARE. Itâs nothing relevant or interesting to the question, and I canât find anything more damning than that.
So unless by âbiphobic terfâ anon meant âdated academicâ, I think we can say âprobably not???â
If anyone wants to make a substantive claim, Iâm willing to hear it. Maybe Michael Warner said some shit, IDK. Even if he did we can debate whether that would be sufficient to rule out the use of the term âheteronormative.â What would we be giving up by just⊠acting as if that word is Bad now? And what reasons would be good enough to make us want to do that?
Meantime, I stand by what I said: This shit isnât cool, itâs bad for you to just treat these kinds of communication as if they were sensible, and some pretty nasty people take advantage of our tendency to get all uselessly self-effacing because weâre scared of being seen fucking up. Weâre already marginalized, we donât gotta help âem do their shit.
And if itâs just some bad actor within our own communities? Cut it out. Thereâs better ways to get your needs met then browbeating a buncha traumatized queers whoâve all learned that we are disposable and also have nowhere to go except The Movement.
When you see a message like this, donât answer it right away. Stop. Think.
And if youâll pardon the expression, spread this like wildfire.
the other thing is, language and and theory isnât like art -- it doesnât *belong* to people in the same way (notably in part because using it doesnât enrich the inventor).
so you have to ask yourself also: what if thatâs the case? it heteronormativity a useful concept? does having it named and defined benefit marginalized communities? Â
itâs not a simple case of âAn Unclean Person Touched This, Cancel, Burn and Purify.â Â
I mean, for peteâs sake, think about the early theorizing of reproductive rights -- most of the coiners of terms were racist nightmare monsters. But our ability to organize and protect bodily autonomy is pretty dependent on a lot of the ideas which they originated or popularized, and so we keep them. Â
Ominous
An emotionally needy regular of mine has, in the past few weeks gotten uncharacteristically erratic with scheduling, and yesterday asked to extend his booking for this afternoon by a half hour, because he â has something he needs to tell me about and wants to get advice from me on the subject.â
I do not know what the matter is, but of the several possibilities that occur as probable, I like exactly none of them.
Oh man did I ever update people on this one? It turned out to be that he had been diagnosed with Parkinsonâs and didnât know how to tell his wife or his rabbi.
(Still seeing him today though)
How often do you have virgins as clients? And if not would you turn them down? I'm a virgin myself...
I want you to ask yourself: _why_ would a sex work give any fucks about the level of prior sexual experience a client has had or not had?Â
Also, thereâs no such thing as virginity.Â
if I were to look into getting SD, how soon would u think I should disclose to them that im an inexperienced virgin? im scared thatâll cost me multiple opportunities
i think you should work harder at your descriptive language if you want to write letters for Penthouse.
A client here. Who would you consider a good client? Besides, are all of us sad little clovers?
A good client shows up on time, leaves on time, is hygienic and pays without whining. A good client knows what they want in session and has done enough research to know that I am willing/able to give them what they want. The *best* client isnât seeing me as a substitute for some other kind of interaction (like say, having a girlfriend), but instead enjoys the advantages and limits of a session for what they are. Â
A good client treats sex work like going to a magic show, and doesnât hop up on stage trying to find the trap door (do you LIKE me? do you REALLY like me tho?), but instead allows a reasonable suspension of disbelief (in my performance of liking you) to carry them through a pleasant experience (and while weâre at it, increase the odds of my actually liking them). Â
hi hi, i plan on coming back to sw, but, i see that sesta/fosta has taken cl and bp offline. where are sw like yourself currently advertising? thanks! :)
i donât.
i wasnât advertising online for several years before sesta/fosta, and so iâm unlikely to start anytime soon. Â
if i were financially reliant on reaching new clientele, i would be pretty fucked. wish i had better advice for you, comrade.
I need you all to be careful with this fentanyl/carfentanil shit going on. Especially in our industries, we all know drug use is very common be it personal use or on the job with customers. Many people think that they only mix it with opioids like heroin or benzos like pressed Xanax but they mix it with everything they can and that includes cocaine and other uppers. I know lots of customers regularly pay to âpartyâ with dancers and other sex workers but maybe we need to think twice about that nowadays. You donât know whatâs in Regular Johnâs coke and even if it was fine the last time it could kill you the next.
And if you donât do drugs but you have friends/coworkers who do you should remind them as well. Shit is scary out there but being aware and educated can save lives.
Everybody should get Naloxone and know how and when to use it. Tell your friends.
hey someone tell an old lady whoâs been inactive for ages what tags all the workers are hanging out in?
yeahhâŠ.about that. Tumblr got FOSTA/SESTAâd. Welcome back, btw.
yeah, i came back to see if i could back up my writing before it got deleted, and people put dumb shit in my inbox and i fell down the rabbithole.Â
hey someone tell an old lady whoâs been inactive for ages what tags all the workers are hanging out in?
