Two descendants Oc's and a new horror adventure I made
Connected to the previous image hc (completed hc list here). They might not look that original though, I hope with their story background they are more interesting:
āCarter Plunkett is based on my favorite character, Randolph Carter, in Lovecraft's works. Heās the most similar to his grandfather in looks, intelligence and how much he rhymes, but has no Phil or friends in general, and is much more reserved, he doesn't like social events. He saw many seuss worlds and similars (and others stranger, misterious, twisted, darker and still weirdly beautiful worlds) through dreams since early childhood and longs to travel them all while feeling disconnected to his own world. For many years after becoming an adult, he tried to be normal, knowing how worried his family was for him.
Heās closer to his grandpa, mother and little sister, they were his anchor all his life. His little sister might be the closest he has to a "Phil" in his life, they are siblings and best friends, taking care of the other, sharing their deepest secrets and being each other biggest support. He's not close to his father and older brother, not because they're nasty, they're just too different in personality, he's also indifferent to his cousins. He idolized Howard and stole his hat so many times he was gifted a similar one by him, while his mother gifted him a four clover leaf brooch that she put in the hat, with the hope that it would grant him luck and protection in the future, she can't help but worry while Howard knows what's coming and knows he can't stop it, which frustrates him.
It finally happened when Carter reached 30, heās done trying, his anchors aren't enough to stop the deep longing in his soul, he wants to follow his dreams, literally, so he searches and manages to find Knowledgeās bar and then finds a way to leave with him, finally becoming a traveller of worlds (he himself is the key, but the price is bigger the more he goes down and farther away. Is he willing to pay for more knowledge? How far will he go? How much of himself will he trade?)
āSarah Plunkett, Carterās little sister (I took the name from Lovecrafts mother, following the trend of Howard and Phillip), 26 years old. Sheās closer to Carter than to her first brother, especially considering the big age gap between oldest and youngest. She considers Carter her first best friend, her biggest supporter and anchor. Howard has a soft spot for her because she looks like his mom, just younger and with more energy, but at the same time, he fears she might share the tragic destiny of her great grandmother because of being her look alike. She's an artist, loves to do all kinds of different crafts but her true passion is painting. After Carterās disappearance, sheās the one who took it the hardest, to the point Howard worries himself sick for her. She stops painting and doing any craft, having lost her biggest supporter, and starts wandering, in the end, she accidentally gets involved with a cult.
She receives an offer to work in an old, strange museum that's outside of the city. She has a strong gut feeling against this place, but decides to ignore it, on one hand, she can use it as an excuse to get away and stop worrying her family, on the other, she knows her family history and there's a chance this could lead her to answers. She'll soon be involved in a terrible adventure, crazy cultist that want to use her (as a descendant of someone touched by one of the Old Gods) as a key and vessel in their invocation, coworkers and unfortunate visitors transformed into works of art and offerings, creatures like ghouls and others have come out of hiding to feast after accidentally being called by the cult, there's also madness everywhere and even if she has inherited the resistance of grandpa Howard, she can get lost if she doesn't stand strong, and as a human she can still get hurt. She'll have to use all her wits and go back to painting and doing crafts if she wants to solve the puzzles and survive to tell the tale. Luckily, a bar has opened its doors tonight. She's the first descendant to face an apocalyptic event like Howard, and in this adventure, she also gets to say goodbye and learn to let go of her brother and best friend, let him follow his dream no matter where they take him nor how far away from her.
Sarah Plunkett ignored the danger
Just to find signs of her brother Carter
Now she's trapped, surrounded by madness
She has to be clever if she wants to outsmart them
The museum of madness has reveales its true face
Will Sarah be able to see another day?

šNote after thinking: my dear Angelique, by this time, has added to her old theory about Howard's curse not being a curse but another side effect. Considering how all of Howard's changes are about knowledge, he fought an Old God of Knowledge, and all descendants have a lesser version of what Howard had, expressed majorly through "gut feelings", she thinks is not so much as his children "attracting" this weird situations, but their subconscious knowing there's "something" otherworldly in that place/person and their curiosity leading them there if they're close but they don't tend to repeat the experience, they're satisfied having seen it once, while the few others "atractted" by it, are just more active and conscious in their search for more and more, their thirst for knowledge seems stronger. All can be summed up as curiosity and knowledge being the biggest aftermath in Howard's children (Howard will forever curse at that Old God, though he always knew, even before going down to that city, that if he ever managed to come back, he would never be the same and there would be consequences).
š“Extra notes about the descendants hc for those who want to use it: they have the resistance against madness like Howard (they're all strange and see the world different to normal people, but each one also express it in different ways, not all descendants see the world exactly like Howard nor rhyme as much as he does) but just like Howard, in certain situations and if they don't stand strong mentally, they can fell to the madness (bad end). Their gut feelings and small premonitions can protect them but the hubris of this family is curiosity and the thirst of knowledge, stronger in some (that might be a leftover influence from that Old God in the past). They're still fully human and can be hurt as easily as anyone, but they're also smart and resourceful to get out of the situations they get in.
