mike flanagan is anti-horror. grey brown netflix sludge, tenderness without intimacy. his little limp dick narratives are skin deep, no flesh no blood, no honest exploration of the works of art that he's being lauded for willfully misunderstanding. "from the heart and soul of mike flanagan" is oxymoronic and stupid and as trite as his FUCK NOTHING television shows and movies.
Sex scenes in movies are just avenues for men to display their fetishes. Women, on the other hand, do not have fetishes. They are big happy and sexually normal. So sexually normal that sex disgusts them. In fact, being turned on? Inherently male trait. Being titillated? Only men experience titillation. Because being a woman means not experiencing dirty horrible sexual feelings like enjoyment at seeing a boob. Women are pure. And good. And virginal. They understand that sex is sinful and degrading. Surely this is a progressive stance.

Don’t make your younger self into your own dead wife.
i'm the guy who writes the books that the protagonist in supernatural horror movies frantically reads somewhere in act ii. job's pretty easy. lot of "legends of vampires have recurred all throughout human history" and "demonologists agree that the quickest way to un-summon a demon is to trap it in a cursed object". no citations of course; they don't pay me citation money. i had to learn html back in the early aughts when everyone started seeking their supernatural info on websites they found via top search engines like FINDLER and WEBSIGHT but that's died down now which is great because i didn't have it in me to pick up css. currently working on a new book about horses that are evil. it's called HORSES THAT ARE EVIL in all caps so the protagonist can find it quickly to yank off the library shelf. it will be published 35 years ago.
