so imagine you’re making ratatouille and you don’t like tomatoes. you don’t like the taste, the texture, the putting them in the water and the peeling them - eugh! so you say to yourself “lookit, this whole dish is nothing but vegetables, so what does it matter if i leave the tomatoes out?” a seemingly innocuous decision on the surface, but 2 hours or whatever later when you’re done cooking, you open the oven to find a complete mess! just a pot full of baked vegetables, none of them congealed or somehow unified. what happened to your beloved ratatouille? so you take to google and find that actually the tomatoes are an essential ingredient of ratatouille, as they form a “sauce” of a certain kind that makes the whole thing work. and so a seemingly innocent decision has destroyed the very foundation of the established order with disturbing ramifications towards the whole. in this essay i will examine how martin luther’s 95 theses lead to protestants being more boring than catholics

My name is Zen, and I’m a 23 year old butch non-binary lesbian who lives in Mexico. I’m currently living with my parents, and lately things have been getting increasingly difficult. I have a freelance job as a translator, but I haven’t been getting much work and I actually might be out of a job completely soon. I have diagnosed ADHD and I’m taking Concerta for it, but my dad is no longer willing to help me pay for my medicine, which is $40 a month.

 Ultimately, even though I’m not in any danger physically, I need to move out sooner rather than later. My parents have been getting more and more controlling and have been making very hurtful comments to me regarding my mental illnesses. This is starting to noticeably affect my mental health. I know my parents mean well, but living with them full time has become nearly impossible, and my relationship with them is deteriorating by the day, along with my mental and emotional wellbeing. I’m hoping that we’ll be able to start mending our relationship once I move out, but right now it’s just constant fighting and I’m always left feeling guilty. 

 I have a degree in literature, but getting a good job with such little experience in my field has been impossible. I’m still looking for a job but it might take awhile, and in the meantime I would like to afford my basic expenses. While I’m still pretty new at digital art, I can do traditional drawings and paintings! I can also translate simple documents from english to spanish or vice versa. My situation isn’t extremely urgent currently, but I’d like to save up some money to move out before things get any worse, and pay for my meds. I’m not looking for large donations because I know there are people who have more urgent needs than me, but I would very gladly accept small donations; and if you’d like to donate more please contact me first so I can repay you with some art.
