she adored getting high with friends, in fact ninety five per cent of the time ––– ariadne was with a friend. it was much more fun and led to a lot more crazy happenings but this was the only place in the city she’d come to on her own to smoke. sure everybody spends time hiking over here, from la natives to tourists but nobody was aware that this was ariadne’s place to just be. whenever she was tired of all the commotion that came with her life. she knew if she told someone, they would take it as an unofficial invite to show up whenever they wanted ––– with more people too and parties would be thrown, ruining the only area outdoors that the brunette considers serene. “good, because what sane person would turn down free weed?” she asked sardonically as she passed the other her pink lighter and the new blunt that she had just finished rolling. not expecting an answer to her rhetorical question, ariadne continued, lips parted as a giggle slipped through at his reference. it was a little too cliche. “yeah, actually.” she informed him as she fell into an explanation of how this was her place. “i come here like two-three times a week. it’s kinda my area now, i guess.” turning to look at the other, eyebrow raised in confusion. “but i’m guessing from your choice of words, this isn’t the first time you’ve been here either?”
“ yeah, you caught me —— i’m a sucker for clichés, ” words laced with sarcasm are an attempt at masking just how much he craved a place to be alone. the shame of needing a place to drop the dickhead act weighed heavy on his shoulders. he’d thrusted himself into the life he lived now ; the partying, the drugs, the shallow relationships. he ( to some extent ) had made himself who he was, so why did he have any right to feel suffocated? fingertips played idly with the lighter and blunt in his hands, lost in his own thoughts for a moment before the spark of fire pulled him back, “ so what are you doing here? tired of being down there? ” he lifted the blunt to his lips, lighting it before motioning a hand towards the city. eyes linger on the lights below, another hit taken before passing it back to her. silence falls between them yet again, realization of how long it’s been since he’s been without the pressure of having to play the role of leon nam, acting as if nothing mattered, cutting off every connection he had before they even formed. maybe it's the long week of galas and events finally catching up to him, but exhaustion seemed to wash over the boy without warning. gaze slowly turns back to the other, a hand lifting to comb through his hair before breaking the silence, “ i’m not disrupting your alone time, am i? ”
