‘’ Penelope is a sociopath, she likes to tease people for pure pleasure or just to make fun of them. She terrifies who’s around her. Penelope deals with this couple (Paul and Marianne, played by Matthias Schoenaerts and Tilda Swinton) like they were toys and not human beings.  She does things to feel relevant at the moment, or something that makes her believe she’s learning some lesson or crossing a line towards maturity, but deep down she has no idea what she’s doing. ‘’
