So I've accumulated a lot of fanarts of my characters so I wanted to do some kind of masterpost.
All of them are situated in a world that me and my bestie invented. At first it was supposed to be a crack short story of our friend group : a stupid quest carrying a stone sarcophagus across the continent to free the Godkiller and it was in fact empty.
So I had to invent the story of the Godkiller a bit more because there are tones of gods in this world and their main point is that you can't kill them for good. You could smash them between two big stones and they'd die for like ten minutes before spawning back somewhere else.
And now the story of the Godkiller is all I care about. And yes she was inspired by Alecto (tlt) because I was just reading Nona the Month when I came up with her. But she's like the temu version of Alecto.
So, my temu version of Alecto is called Elante di Nulla, because she changed her clan name upon reaching godhood. She's 27 or something at the start of the story, and she's cursed like everyone else in her clan. Cursed since 4'500 years btw, because gods will be gods. They've been cursed by Broya, god of the same-named river, because they happened to kill the descendants of his family. Since then, they must stick to the riverbank because they need to drink the water of it at least once a week, but if they ever stay in the same area for 7 nights in a row, said area will be flooded. However, they are cursed to be willing to keep going and not just die of. The whole culture of "normal" people along the river is impacted by this dynamic. She is the Godkiller now, a new godling on her way to whatever godkiller do : making the most complicated sword ever because a prophetic dream told her to.
And that's her by @denndrawings who's glorious at putting my mind on paper. And now she's like 34 because yeahhh making a sword and killing her first god took a lot of time. Then I have another version of her by @dillusion-art when killing her 3rd/th god, as one does. (+ a bonus Tur in the background)
Elante's a baby god and what does a baby god needs? A mortal and very human father-figure far away from the cursed river of Broya.
His name is Alphonse and the artist is @denndrawings again and I couldn't have done anything without her because I have aphantasia and she is glorious. She went wild with the character design and he's marvelous. I adore the missing fingers and their replacement.
Alphonse is a travelling merchant who is well adjusted, nice, and a bit lost with his new godling but hey, you can't let a baby god dead on the side of the road. He's something like 50 and comes from way further north (like, closer to the equator) in what will be the "french holy empire" like 200 years later). His clothes are inspired by traditionnal spanish clothing. He's carrying little insigna : a hammer for Jana, goddess of blacksmith, endurance and trade, and a ship for Razmus, the god of the safe maritim routs.
Then they go get Tur (yes i know Tür is door in german and yes it's normal and it's written Tur because I write french so it makes the correct sounds). Tur is the goddess of Secrets and Mysteries, second in name because the first one died long ago and gave her the mantle. She's a little freak. Think Harrow with more teeth and less bones. She is always veiled but the manner of the veil isn't always the same. She's about 7'000 years old, so she's seen a lot of different ways to get dressed. In the previous art with Elante, she has something that is very light and sheer. Here she's more traditionnally clothed regarding her own cult.
There used to be a sea next to her area, so her priests use whales/sharks skulls to ornate their religious clothings. Tur is the girl as well as the shark. She's many eyes and many ears. She's the one that sees the secrets and mysteries draping everyone and everything. However, she's different from the previous god of Secrets and Mysteries. He used to know them - all of them, and to never tell a word. Tur doesn't know them, but she sees where they lay and has informations about their shapes and tastes. And when she sees/hears about a particularly tasty one, she is driven by the urge to go there, understand it and keep it under her veil until it is time to speak about it. She's a goddess of blackmail, if you can give her a good reason to do it. And this one was drawn by e.griboullis on instagram.
Same artist made Broya.
In French, Broya means "he crushed". Broya used to be a hero during my warring-gods era, which is like 7'200 years before Elante. He fought for another god until his name became so well-known that he got his own river.
The urns represent the loved ones he lost and never managed to grieve. He's chained to their death and the curse that he layed on Elante's people. It doesn't matter if he wants to move one and free them - he can't. This is what he is now, and gods are what they are. He lives in the Broya, from the mountains to the sea, and he drowns people when they try to belong.
I'm not obsessed at all with my girls and their sword
Nor am I with how the colors change and everything
And that's Torrènn, by denndrawings again.
Baby Torrènn is a bit younger than Tur and Broya, but not by much (like I mean a few centuries at most). She was meant to be a diplomat, a follower of the god of peace and languages. Sadly things went a bit off road after her mom died and she is now the Goddess that kills everyone on her mountain. Not that she wants it. But people/gods setting foot on her mountain feel like a particularly annoying fly buzzing near her head and walking on her arm and even with the best intentions of the world, she's going to swat at it at some point and well... Her gentle arm movements might break stone or conjure a flashflood.
Her bestie is Tur because Tur doesn't mind dying to see her. Tur loves telling her about the secrets and mysteries of the world because Torrènn has no power over it, so much so that it can all stay secret and Tur doesn't have to worry about her babbling. In exchange, she brings her books and teaches her the new languages as they come.
More of Tur, by @new-hyperfixation-every-month who also makes great TSV fanart
And this is still Tur, traveler's outfit, aka the holiest sad girl of the world. What does it do when you're bound to witness every single bad idea humanity ever had, and to be down for it and to help them go to the bad ending...
