Finally posting for the comic I'm writing! This is a massive solo project I've been wanting to start for a while so I hope to have more art coming for it soon
going to be driving 40 minutes this saturday to the ONLY CINEMARK THEATER SHOWING EITHER OF THESE MOVIES bc i am dedicated to the queer barbenhiemer of it all. my regular cinemarks are homophobic apparently
update post watching: spoilers abound
ok so we watched leviticus first, because i was fully expecting a devastating end and knew id need a pick me up. but not only did i get double sapphics (because theres sapphics in leviticus too! one of ems dead but. they're there) but it was a kind of happy ending???!?! with the entire movie being about the fear of being yourself, the fear of judgement, fear of going after what you want, the fact that the solution was to fully embrace it and face the challenges together... CINEMA. naim's mom can fuck right off though.
then girls like girls. UGH. gorgeous. entirely too real. jumpscared by the guy from scrubs but its ok because he's a wholesome trying-his-best dad and he says she'll find a 'person' not a 'man' when comforting her about her insecurity of feeling unwanted ??? love that for her. the argument scene was giving riley 2023 car scene because i cannot escape connor storie but you know what. im impressed as fuck by the acting. when a character crying makes me cry you know that shit is visceral.
anyway 10/10 would reccomend both movies.

Things One Piece is about:
Piracy
Adventure
The power of friendship
Fighting against oppression no matter what form it takes, be it a corrupt king, rival pirates, or a system of government that controls the whole world
The only way to make a change when stuck in a situation that's actively taking away your freedom and rights is by force
Racism and discrimination are complicated issues that cannot be solved over night, it takes a combined effort to reach an understanding and to change people's views, and even if you can't let go of your own hatred because of the horrible things you've experienced, you shouldn't pass that hatred onto the next generation and instead allow them to form their own opinions through their own lived experiences
Freedom and liberation are basic human rights
Everyone, no matter who they are, should have access to food and water
Healthcare should be readily available to anyone who needs it
It's incredibly important to not only learn, but understand and preserve history, because those who seek power will go out of their way to destroy inconvenient information, erasing the stories of those who no longer have a voice, dooming society into forever repeating the same mistakes without ever learning from them
Children shouldn't suffer because of the actions of their parents
Queer people

-> “why wasn’t this book listed?” probably because it wasn’t black sapphic-centric, the author isn’t a black sapphic themself, or i just simply haven’t heard of it! so feel free to add on if it meets those two criteria
many of these books require trigger warnings, especially some of the older ones that are more likely to feature racial struggles of the time. please do your due diligence and search for tws if you want to read them!
please feel free to add onto this list in the rbs or comments! happy black history month
i have been cursed by heated rivalry to have inspiration for a sapphic hockey romance, which has led me to make fictional versions of all the pwhl teams including designing logos and jerseys, which i spent all day today doing while watching ncaa championship games from last year because the pwhl hasnt been around long enough to exclusively use that for research purposes. im in deep. the queers have captured me. its gonna be a rivals to lovers about goalies that played together in college and are now on rival teams in the professional league. working title pull the goalie. all of this over just the weekend who knows what the next week will bring as i wait impatiently for the olympic womens hockey games to happen
does anyone have the one short film hudson's in called the walls. its not on youtube anymore. i need it desperately its one of my favorites i need clips of that little rat man
