back when i realised i was a lesbian and identified as bigender it was difficult enough to join lesbian support/safespace chats, now its nearly impossible because i am not welcome in many ofc. i was thinking of joining old timey support groups because they dont seem to spread separatism. but yeah, any ideas?:0
i absolutely do! many mogai blogs are accepting of lesboys- i recommend looking up lesboy on tumblr, you'll find many lesboys and safe blogs. a lot of mogai coiners (i have a list here) are very supportive of lesboys, and you can follow lesboy tags! some blogs i recommend are @gaybian-culture-is @rad-inclus-lesbian-culture-is @rezevil @lesboyfemboy @batm0th @rad-inclus-culture-is @wearequeer-andwearehere and of course all of my other blogs are as well, @queer-nd-culture-is @aspec-sapphic-culture-is @aroflux-culture-is @quoicultureis @coiner-culture-is @mogai-sunflowers @meadow-of-mogai-melodies

I’ve heard some alterhumans/otherkin describe feeling dysphoria or a sort of phantom limb syndrome related to their identity. Here in the real world, sexuality is based on sex. This is good, because gender is meaningless. Heterosexuals are interested in the sex that is not theirs - a male attracted to females, or a female attracted to males, for example. This includes people who “identify” as something else. Bisexuals - people interested in either sex.
Homosexuals are same-sex-attracted people. Males attracted to males are gay, females attracted to females are lesbians.
People who are upset that “lesbian” doesn’t describe them just aren’t lesbians, then. It’s a perfectly fine descriptor for actual female homosexuals, not males who say they’re women who are attracted to women. There are other sexualities that may suit them better, such as bisexuality. Or heterosexuality.
I feel that the term “lesbian” has no need to change its definition because it literally accurately describes the people who should be using it - females with single, same-sex attraction only. Others who get disappointed by that “restrictive” definition should consider that maybe they’re just not lesbians. We seek to expand definitions when they’re no longer accurate; actual lesbians did not agree to have their word and their community overrun by males in dresses, bisexuals who just won’t use that word, and anyone else who isn’t a female homosexual.
This is not about what lesbian should be, it’s about how its defined in the modern day. if enough people define a word a certain way, that becomes the (or one of) “true” definiton of that word. You, one person, cannot change that. Many people define lesbian to be inclusive of trans people, many people define lesbian based on gender because of their own attraction, and they cannot be ignored. You may disagree with them, but its reality whether you like it or not.
Far too many people experience attraction to gender- sometimes even greater than attraction to sex- for them to be ignored. So, no, gender is not “meaningless”, and there’s nothing in this world that no one is attracted to!
You may think the meaning of lesbian has no need for change, but it already has. Either change your definition to be accurate, or cope.
