It’s always fun to start out the day with a little play time..
I was up a couple hours before our alarm, so I was able to notice when Baby Boy started wiggling in his sleep. It was just a shift here and there, so at first it didn’t register that his bladder was filling. He then started to shift more and more, wiggling constantly. With just fifteen minutes left before the alarm, I decided to try and wake him up. I know, I know, I’m evil… but he loves it that way. 😋
Usually waking him up (especially with a full bladder) is fairly easy, but this morning was a little bit more of a challenge. After trying (and failing, once with his tongue poking out) a few times I restarted the video call knowing the ringing from his computer would wake him up. He picked his head up, opened his eyes, and almost immediately his hips shifted, and his face scrunched up.
“Why don’t we go potty sweetheart?” I suggested.
“No! I have twelve more minutes sleep.” He stubbornly threw his head back down on the pillow and closed his eyes pretending to sleep. The constant wiggling continued as he fought the twinges from his bladder to continue sleeping until the alarm went off. Baby boy didn’t make it five more minutes before his eyes opened again, and he lifted his hips off the bed to get the pressure off his bladder.
“Baby let’s just go pee then you can have your last ten minutes sleep when you get back.”
He groaned, but closed his eyes again, determined to get in those last few minutes, but his poor little bladder just wasn’t having it and his eyes opened. Time to have some fun… 😏😋
He whimpered, but obeyed, rolling over onto his back, but his hips still lifted off the bed. His t-shirt raised up slightly and I could see his bladder jumping, wanting to push out the water he’d had overnight.
“Does someone have go potty?”
Instead of an answer I was met with another groan, and his hand slid down between his legs.
“Uh uh I didn’t say you could do that. Move it.”
“Yes you can, move it and ask nicely and maybe I’ll let you.”
Baby boy moved his hand and the wiggling intensified. With five minutes left before the alarm he caved and asked if he could go potty.
“No, you’re determined to stay in bed until the alarm you can wait five more minutes baby.”
“Can I use my hand please?” he groaned, twisting and turning trying to find a position that relieved the pressure on his bladder.
“Please what?” He knows how to ask nicely, and I wasn’t going to cave for anything less.
With a smile I nodded, and his hand flew down between his legs.
“Please can I go pee?” he asked, clenching his hand tightly.
“Uh uh, you can hold it just a few more minutes.”
Baby boy rolled back over onto his belly, lifting his hips off the bed. “Mmn, it’s starting to come out, please ma’am can I go?”
“No, not yet you can hold it.”
That back and forth continued for the next two minutes before the alarm finally went off, and I gave him permission to go. He jumped up, climbing down from the bed and rushing out of the room.
