Nothing says good mental health like Nine Inch Nails 1994 album The Downward Spiral!
I think abt the left 4 dead 2 graffiti so often. Like they really had the human condition nailed huh.
This reminds me of something interesting that I love about the Left 4 Dead series that was lost in the zombie subgenre right after the release of L4D2, which is why I stopped caring about zombie media in general a few years ago.
This was probably already pointed out by a thousand others, but the first two graffitis –along with the Left 4 Dead series as a whole– is a direct spit in the face of this narrative that became the dominant trend in zombie media lately: the horror slop obsessed with philosophical questions about the similarities that might remain between zombies and humans, whose writers overly focus on the human drama and portray a zombie apocalypse's survivors in the worst possible way, to the point that you wonder if the writers even care about the zombie apocalypse itself anymore and/or mixed up the zombies and the human characters when they were coming up with the story; the zombie media that, either by accident or on purpose, conveys the message of "Humans are the real monsters" and the doomer mentality that are rightfully and deservedly mocked in those graffitis.
