"mack is crazy" - gavin mckenna, 2026
mack being a greedy coin gobbler is honestly an interesting revelation about his character after the humble, team player :) narrative has been shoved down our throats for the past two years
we finally got the dave pic :D
obsessed with him not taking a discount and keeping the c at worlds and demanding more ice time and everything else that makes him interesting
OH MY GOD

Is the recently pulled 1/1 Celebrini Young Guns Gold Outburst a $1,000,000 card?
The highly coveted 1/1 Macklin Celebrini Young Guns Gold outburst has been pulled! The Upper Deck 'Young Guns' is considered the 'true rookie card' in modern hockey collecting, and this particular 1/1 gold version might be considered the most coveted hobby grail of the 21st century. Celebrini has quickly become one of the hobby's biggest stars following a sensational sophomore season that saw the 19-year-old emerge as an MVP contender. The excitement around his cards has reached another level, with his base Young Guns selling for as much as $4,400 CAD in a PSA 10. Among active NHL players, only Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin, and Connor McDavid have base Young Guns that command higher prices. What separates this card from every other modern hockey grail is its exclusivity. None of Crosby, Ovechkin, or McDavid has a 1/1 Gold Young Guns, making Celebrini's card truly unique. That rarity could push its value well into the six figures and potentially make it the first $1,000,000 modern hockey card ever sold. The card had an original bounty of $250,000 on it, but was increased to 600,000 CAD by SlabSharks, a Canadian eBay consignor, when the public caught wind of the card being pulled. Rather than accepting SlabSharks' lucrative bounty, the owner of the card reportedly elected to send it to Goldin Auctions, where it will be sold to the highest bidder. It's reasonable to expect the floor on the card to be the $600,000 offered by SlabSharks, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see it surpass that number and approach the $1,000,000 mark, which has never been reached in modern hockey history. For context, the most expensive hockey card sale to date is a PSA 10 O-Pee-Chee Wayne Gretzky rookie card, which fetched 5.2M in 2021. The highest-selling modern card was the PSA 10 2015-16 Connor McDavid RPA /99 from The Cup that sold for $571k in December of 2025. Both of these cards have a PSA 10 population of two, which means there are two copies of each card and a possibility, albeit unlikely, for more to emerge if another one grades a 10. This isn't possible for the one-of-one Celebrini, which makes this card so unique and unlike any other true rookie grail in the hockey card hobby. So what do you think this card will fetch at auction?
i have a lot of thoughts on the matter but i will say that fandom moving from semi-private blogs and communities to extremely public and algorithm-driven social media was a huge mistake that has changed fandom culture for the worse
