See Every Term the US Census Has Used to Describe Black Americans
Especially notable is that before 1960, Americans didn’t even have the option of picking their own race; it was the census taker’s job to do it for them. Which means that in 1890, for example, census takers were tasked with figuring out whether multiracial families counted as “mulatto,” “quadroon,” or “octoroon.”
It’s another illustration of how our understanding of what race is, and who belongs to which race, keeps shifting over time — even though people of every era are convinced that the racial divisions of their era are just scientific fact.
White people are just white or caucasian because it doesnt matter where youre from we're fucking americans
All true confirmed by me
I'd like to elaborate on #8 though because not everyone is beautiful but it's easily attainable by just having a positive attitude! Everyone SHOULD be beautiful!
Feeling beautiful has nothing to do with what you look like. I promise.
Emma Watson (via ohdreaming)
Ooooh this is so interesting I love this! I've always told people I view beauty as an expression of one's personality through physical appearances and mannerisms and I don't think anyone understands me but I find this relevant to that
Fun fact
Native Americans weren’t allowed US citizenship until 1924.
Let that sink in. We lived here first…for thousands of years. And less than a hundred years ago we were finally given citizenship.
We also fought in WWI despite not being US citizens.
In Arizona, natives weren’t granted the right to vote until 1948. Think how that type of neglect ties into resource colonization as infrastructure was developed within years prior.
In addition: the indigenous peoples of Canada were not recognized as Human Beings until the year 1960. Now let that shit sink in.
The indigenous Aboriginal people of Australia are STILL not recognised in the Australian constitution to this day.
Ok but the native americans want to live tax free and get government handouts on top of that why do you need to be a US citizen if you get your own set of laws anyway
But lots of people complain about it being hard to find someone and being both sexually and mentally stimulating will open up your options
Possessiveness 101
Totally cool: “Hey, do you want to be exclusive?”
Red flag: “No one but me is allowed to touch you.”
Totally cool: “It makes me feel weird when you flirt with other people, can we talk about that?”
Red flag: “If you loved me, you would stop being friends with them. You KNOW it makes me jealous.”
Totally cool: “I hope we’re together forever. I’m so in this for the long haul.”
Red flag: “If you ever left me, I would kill myself.”
Totally cool: “Your mom is really unkind to me, can we try to minimize how often you bring me when you visit her?”
Red flag: “Your mom hates me, you need to stop talking to her. She’s trying to ruin our relationship.”
Totally cool: “I love you so much, oh my god.”
Red flag: “It’s a good thing I love you so much, because no one else would. You’d be alone forever without me.”
Other important red flags to keep in mind: someone who wants to jump into emotional/financial co-dependence very fast (like moving in together right away, or becoming each other’s only confidantes right away) and won’t take no for an answer; someone who tries to minimize how often you leave the house or interact with other people; someone who threatens you or themselves or your family or pets or possessions or financial future; someone who uses guilt to keep you from leaving a relationship.
Very important reminder: You do not need a reason to leave a relationship. Neither does the other person (or people). A relationship is over when one of the people in it says it’s over, period. Obviously it’s kind to take the end of a long relationship seriously, but abusers and manipulators have lost the right to that conversation. Lie if you need to–your safety is much more important than their feelings.
Trust your instincts!
This whole bro code thing where if a guy dates his friend’s sister he’s betraying the friend is wild, you would think your sister dating your friend meant you didn’t have to worry because he’s someone you know and trust but it just goes to show how all these bros know one another to be misogynistic and predatory and regularly exhibit that behavior around one another, and it’s all fun and games and bros before hos until somebody hits on somebody’s sister. Like, clearly you are aware that you are all gross to women but that’s okay with you as long as you and your friends are targeting random women and no one is doing the same to your sister or mother? Why do women have to be related to you for it to occur to you to respect them?
I disagree with this. I asked a friend of mine if I could date his sister and he said go for it, you can't be as bad as the guy she's with now. It's kind of a ridiculous idea, someone's gonna be fucking her, why not my best friend? People who live by a bro code are just morons.
Imagine being a man with teenage daughters. You don't want anyone touching your daughter, she's your princess, but someone's going to, so hopefully it's someone cool.
Florida cops kill black man who pulled over with car trouble — and then refuse to tell family why
Police in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida have refused to explain why an officer shot and killed a black man who was reportedly having car trouble over the weekend.
Palm Beach Gardens Police have only said that one of its officers had shot a man at around 3:15 a.m. on a southbound exit ramp of I-95.
Family members confirmed that the man was 31-year-old #Corey Jones, who is known in the community for playing drums in several local bands and churches.
“We don’t know where his body is, we don’t know what’s going on, all we know is someone knocked on the door and said this has happened,” Ava Wright, a cousin of Jones, told.
Wright explained that Jones had called an older brother to report car problems while on the way home from a gig on Sunday morning. Jones reportedly said that he would need a ride home after calling a tow truck.
“The family needs some comfort,” Wright insisted. “He never got into any trouble; he was a very good kid.”

This smells like cops arranging their stories, paperwork and the videos. It could also be that the police are waiting for the public glare to go away. #Stay Woke
i guess this gonna be just another state sanctioned murder of an unarmed black man. The fact the won’t release any information, and this news report saying it could take weeks or months before they complete an investigation. There will be a gun planted; an excuse about the officers fearing for their safety; a planted story to the media to sully his background with whatever they can come up with; ie DWI, smoking pot, etc. Killing unarmed black people in America by a White police officers is a normal accepted practice by the criminal justice system, and to a degree by the constituents that elect them. Expect Nothing to happen! Seems like black ppl should be allowed to protect themselves with deadly force from encounters with law enforcement. Then maybe they’ll start giving respect to ‘all’ its citizens.

Usually I side with the cops automatically when I see a black person being shot by police. This case seems totally racially profiled based on the 2 articles I read. http://m.palmbeachpost.com/news/news/crime-law/source-corey-jones-had-gun-but-may-not-have-known-/nn564/ http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/man-shot-and-killed-by-policeman-in-florida-as-he-waited-by-car-a6701321.html It looks really bad that the police haven’t made a comment. It looks really bad. I am always quick to judge based on my perception but this doesn’t add up. A church drummer whose car broke down? Seems pretty regular, especially if he was white. But he wasn’t and from what I read, the cop profiled him, ascertained that he was armed, and shot him. This is fucked up. Real bad. I can’t find a way to spin this to the police or government agenda and that’s weird. I side with everyone individually and today I side with #CoreyJones. I want to know exactly what happened. I’m intrigued. This cop could be bad, he could be a total asshole and a bad person. From what I’ve read it seems like Nouman Raja was being a jackass. I like to say that race doesn’t matter in this day and age. The 7 people who follow me know that. But clearly some dickbags don’t get the message. We are all the same but still people screw with it. I am a conservative white male who says fate is defined by the individual, but until further record, I stand with Corey Jones and anyone who follows this case. @4mysquad (I can’t tag you for some reason?) and @thatshimmytho thank you for posting and keeping me aware. Never let my opinions keep me ignorant. I appreciate you and I value your opinions; please never forget this. If you have a reasonable cause, let me know, I will fight it. I’m going to call and find out what I can about Corey Jones. God bless.
Okay yeah I called palm beach police department and they basically told me everything that has been released has been reported in press conferences so the entire thing is up to the media. This is messed up and bad. I want facts and the only place I can get facts is from the media??? Which we all know is distorted by synergy??? Call the palm beach police department and demand answers. I'm obviously not the first person to call based on the response I got. (561) 799-4445 FL, USA please call and demand answers of fact! We are Americans and we should stand together!

This is a good article about pressure for donations at work. It covers both managers and simple workers. Please read if you have been asked to donate or have asked people to donate at work.
maybe because in the car situation the weapon is the alcohol, not the car. and that tends to be more regulated than gun sales do. Also, a car isn’t a weapon, a gun is. Also, there’s a hell of a lot more you need to do to get a car, or a driver’s license, than a gun license or gun. We don’t need car control, that’s ridiculous. We do need control over how we distribute weapons and who we distribute them to. So shove it up your ass, Conservative News Today fb page.
Let me destroy this quick fast and in a hurry.
What’s the weapons now?
http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-sylmar-shooting-homicide-arrest-20140812-story.html
With cars they have to be licensed registered, you have to have training and licensing to operate.
Let’s compare accidental automobile deaths to accidental firearms deaths.
http://listosaur.com/miscellaneous/top-5-causes-of-accidental-death-in-the-united-states/
I hope that was quick enough.
🇺🇸🔫🇺🇸🔫🇺🇸🔫🇺🇸🔫🇺🇸🔫🇺🇸🔫🇺🇸🔫
But, again, acquiring a car is a far more complicated process than acquiring a gun, and car accidents are caused by a variety of events such as alcoholism, while guns are designed to kill.
Also, no, accidental gun deaths are still relatively higher
It seems you skipped over the first statement of mine, was alcohol the weapon or was it the firearm, no need to answer.
Accident..
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/accident
Let’s move on, the graph you provided we’ll be taking that apart a little later but for now we’ll start here.
Who is responsible for protecting law abiding citizens from violent criminals?
What “first statement”? All you did was to link to an alcoholic incident with a firearm. And now you’re goalshifting.
Again, firearm related deaths are more common on average than car accidents.
We’ll let viewers decide what the weapon was in that particular incident.
Who is responsible for protecting law-abiding citizens from violent criminals?
So you essentially admit you posted something in the hopes of fitting your narrative, rather than objectively addressing my point.
Lovely goalshifting. Almost like you cannot address the OP’s point.
I am confident I made my point, if you likewise feel confident then let’s move on.
Who’s responsible for protecting law-abiding citizens from violent criminals?
Just saying “let viewers decide” isn’t very conductive for your point. For one thing you’re essentially claiming that it doesn’t matter if something is true or not as long as sheep are desperate enough to agree with me.
The police, which utilise a variety of instruments besides guns. Your point, besides proving that you can’t address mine?
Wrong the police owes no duty to protect you.

You do realise the police’s entire point public safety, right?
Incidents of people protecting themselves do not deny the fact that accidental or deliberate gun are fatal. In fact, some outrightly end up with the death of the assailant.
If murder is fine for you, I don’t see how you can have the moral high ground.
Do you actually speak english? Your grammar is worse than people who actually don’t even speak english. Murder is the premeditated taking of a life. it involves a deliberate move to kill someone after planning the action.
So you advocate letting a rapist finish what he is doing to your daughter or your mother or your sister, instead of stopping them before they can hurt anyone?
You advocate letting a murderer finish the job of killing your child or your wife or your husband or your mother or your father or your neighbor instead of stopping that person before they could hurt someone?
Good thing you have that moral high ground.
So you think shooting someone isn’t a premeditated taking of a life, then. I might have “bad grammar”, but at least I don’t undermine myself in my own post.
And to answer your question: there are countless ways of more humane incapacitation. But tellingly, agressive violence is your priority.
Give me one way to guarantee a sudden incapacitation because because bullets won’t even do that.

We don’t live in utopia land….
Except, as seen again and again, criminals are affected by gun control laws, so yes, everyone is set at the same even field.
Let’s just make it easy, which laws do criminals follow. Please be specific.
Are these laws effective in Chicago?
What happened to Kung Fu Theater approach?
If you bothered to read, you’d see that gun reform laws and their effect are explored
A few anecdotes do not dismiss the general trends; even the yakuza re having problems in the gun department
Again exactly what laws do criminals follow, it’s a easy question?
Are those laws effective in Chicago?
Maybe you should go through Obama CDC report again.
How about a Harvard study.
http://www.bostonmagazine.com/news/blog/2013/08/30/harvard-gun-study-no-decrease-in-violence-with-ban/
Now that study is backed up by actual data.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_of_guns_per_capita_by_country
http://data.worldbank.org/indicator/VC.IHR.PSRC.P5
- I’ve already answered that question. Again, bother to read the article.
- Nice try, but that study is fraudulent.
How about you grow a fucking spine and not reblog it from me? Go on; if you’re so sure of yourself reblog it right from @rightsideofpolitics and tell it to him? I don’t need your fucking response, HE does!
You do realise rightsideofpolitics can read every response to this thread, right? Also, “grow a fucking spine” is quite hypocritical considering you’re desperately reblogging regardless of whereas something is factually accurate or not
How about you desperately answer this.

We grow up around cars everywhere, you can't escape them. We grow watching adults with proper operating training and licensing and insurance operate cars and learning. We could employ the same tactics for guns. As children we can watch our parents and other responsible adults use guns and learn about responsibility and licensing for gun ownership.
A good idea might be to cover guns in the same way we cover driving. A licensing system, a training system, and maybe even an insurance policy required to acquire a gun. I actually think this is a great idea so if you have feedback let me know.
Attaining a driving license is almost a right of passage in America. Owning a gun could be the same way.

This is bad and even worse is that the kid quoted in the story made a horrible grammatical error so what's really important?
I was class president in 8th grade and I was asked to make one decision as class president that was totally all politics. They asked me if the school should match the student donations in some fundraiser and it would have looked really bad if I said no. I ran on a campaign of nothing but good slogans and handing out stickers to everyone.
For some reason I find my time as class president oddly reminiscent of how actual politics in America work.
This post please everyone
