Idk if this has been said before, but I 100% headcannon Julien Solomita from YouTube as Emmett Cullen. His chaotic aries-ness is peak Emmett. And Rose is for sure just like Jenna who is constantly exasperated by him but in a loving way lol. I also hc that Emmett always helps Esme in the kitchen and is just as chaotic as Julien is in his cooking videos. And Esme just let's it happen while making sure the kitchen doesn't burn down.

to have bella’s human vision tint everything blue throughout the entire movie saga up until when she gets turned and opens her eyes and the first warm shot in the entirety of the five movies is the red of her newborn eyes and from then on everything is sharper and warmer and brighter-colored alluding to her perfect vampire sight would have made the movies a bajillion times better but u didn’t hear it from me

it just would’ve been such a cool little artistic choice, even if catherine couldn’t direct the next four films maybe her influence could be felt a little bit more. it also would’ve made a lot of sense with what bella experiences when she wakes up in the books, as she feels like she’s seeing everything for the first time which such clarity, and literally describes seeing “a new colour”

In the early months of 1987, Alice saw her brother’s future shift. She smiled lightly but kept the information to herself. It wasn’t until the summer of the next year when they were on vacation to a private island that Edward noticed the writing on his collarbone.

Alice stepped behind Emmett just before Edward kicked sand at them, which quickly distracted the boys into a battle. Jasper joined in, knowing that Alice was relieved by the commotion. Edward was not going to mess up her chance at a best friend.

When the Cullen family moved into town, Chief Swan took a special interest in them. He knew what was written on his daughter, after all. None of them knew why, not even Edward. His thoughts were muddy, heavily protected.

Jasper knew he was not suspicious of them, just curious. Alice assured the family not to worry. Of course, Edward did. So did Rosalie, not that she would ever admit it. Emmett was, as usual, unconcerned. He turned over a cop car, a month after the Chief’s special interest though.

Carlisle had a hard time soothing that one over.

Otherwise, it was a quiet few years. That is, of course, until the Chief’s daughter came into town. After everything, almost killing this girl, the first thing that Bella Swan ever said to him was, “How do you know my name?”

He was definitely going to hell.

This is so true. And it’s always made me wonder, are there like… strains of venom, the same way there are family lines? Do certain vampires have different traits as a result? Did Carlisle pass on some of his incredible restraint to his children? Does it get stronger with each “generation”? Is that why Bella is so immune to the normal ravages of thirst and Jasper is not?

Okay this is an interesting theory!!! Like how renesmee has the reverse of Edward’s gift because she’s his daughter. Maybe Rosalie, Edward, Emmett, and Esme have some of Carlisle’s traits??? And I like the idea of Bella being the third generation, and that’s why she another step above the others. I wonder if Bella bit someone, what would they be like?? But like it even works from the other side too, because the vampire that bit Carlisle was literally “starving” to the point that he ran out into a mob of humans, but somehow stopped feeding to defend himself??? Isn’t it stated in the saga over and over again that as soon as you bite a human (especially when you are that thirsty!) that is is nearly impossible to stop??? He probably had really good control too!!!! And maybe he was able to pass that onto Carlisle.

I never understood the sentiment of people saying “that’s morbid” when seeing the Cullens’ collection of graduation hats like, even if they weren’t immortal vampires and it wouldn’t just be an inside joke, it would be a creative way of remembering your deceased loved ones with fondness. Imagine just going around it with guest and when they ask about it you go “Oh yeah, that’s a tradition of ours, you see, that one for example was my grandma Elizabeths, she would always tell us so many stories about the things she used to do in her school years. There’s actually a really funny story about her graduation day she told us once. I think it went like…”. Like bitch morbid would’ve been finding a skull in a showcase in the house with an engraved metal plate under it saying “Grandpa”, this is just something they do, it’s not like they have any decomposing bodies in their house, geez.

One More Minute

A little while ago I was talking with @howlonghaveyoubeenseventeen about (of course) New Moon and what would have happened between Bella and Jacob if Edward had waited another minute to call the Swan house to verify Alice’s (false) vision. Naturally, I had to write it out.

“I’ll be back as soon as you put the dog out,” Alice said, with a smile for Bella that turned into a sneer as she looked to Jacob. She turned on her heel and darted out, leaving Jacob to roll his eyes before turning to Bella.

“You came back,” she said, a note of disbelief in her voice.

“Of course I did. Had to make sure you were still breathing.”

“They wouldn’t hurt me, Jake!” 

“I think it’s a little late to make that claim,” Jacob scoffed. Bella just glared at him and walked to the kitchen, looking for something to do. Jacob waited a moment, then followed here. “I’m sorry,” he added hoping to keep the peace.

“You’re right, though,” she admitted. She leaned against the counter, wrapping her arms around her waist. 

“I’m still sorry. Especially for my anger earlier.” He stood beside her, stretching an arm on the counter behind her. She didn’t seem to notice.

“You were just worried.” She stared at the floor.

“How long is she staying?”

“As long as she wants. Why?

“I just want things to go back to normal.”

“Normal?” she said, turning to look at him. “We have nothing normal.” He chuckled at that, his arm falling to rest around her waist. Her turn and his movement pulled her so close to him that she could feel the heat from his body. She help but notice the way his laughter lit up his face.

Suddenly, it was like they were back in her truck outside her house, holding him close for warmth in more ways than one. His laughter faded as he looked into her eyes, searching for something. Bella still hadn’t chosen, but she felt more comfortable than she ever had.

Then Jacob’s lips were on hers, and it was all she could think about. Her hands slid around his waist, pulling him even closer until he was pressing her into the counter’s edge. He left one hand on her hips, the other on her neck, fingers twisting in her hair. The kiss was gentle, sweet, careful, but it didn’t take long for Bella to fully realize what was happening and pull away. She stepped away from him, lost in thought.

“Bella?” Jacob asked. She had no answer for him. How could she feel so comfortable with him, and enjoy kissing him so much? Her heart didn’t feel so absent anymore. Edward wasn’t hers anymore, but could she be truly happy with another? Just then, the phone rang, and she was grateful for the distraction.

“Hello?” she answered, picking it up. There was only silence on the other end. “Hello?” she tried again. “Can I help you?” There was no response on the other end for so long she thought they had hung up. Then a voice that was almost familiar spoke.

“I must have the wrong number. Thank you for your time. Have a great evening,” a voice sweet as honey with an accent she couldn’t quite place said. Then they hung up. Bella placed the phone back on the hook and turned to Jacob, who was rubbing his jaw.

“Bella?” he asked again. “I’m sorry.”

“Stop apologizing!” Bella said, walking back to him. “It was nice.”

“Does that mean…”

“No. I - I still need to heal on my own,” Bella said, cutting him off. “But I can’t keep denying how important you are to me.”

Jacob grinned, pulling her into a hug. She held him back, feeling all the things you were supposed to feel while holding someone you loved when you weren’t holding yourself back.

“Love you, Bells” Jacob whispered into her hair.

“Love you too, Jake,” she answered him, holding him as tight as she could, feeling all her broken pieces start to fit back together.

When I really think about this…It’s even crazier! She met Edward on January 18 2005.

Her birthday is on September 13. So before that crazy-ass year, she’d known him for a total of 7 months.

She woke up as a vampire on September 13 2006.

But… she was married on August 13 2006, got pregnant and had her baby less than a month later on September 11 2006, which is the day Bella technically began her change.

So she met Edward, and then turned into a vampire about 19 months later, or, basically, a year and a half. But. Let’s not forget they didn’t start dating until the 8th of March 2005.

So they dated for less than a year and a half before they got married?

Except.. they didn’t. It’s EVEN WEIRDER!

Edward broke up with her and left her on the 16th of September 2005. They’d been dating for just over 5 months.

She doesn’t go to Volterra to save him until the 20th of March 2006, 6 months AFTER he broke up with her. They don’t become Edward and Bella again until the 22nd of March 2006 (they weren’t even together when their anniversary of when they met OR got together rolled around) So in the span of 1 year, they spent:

1 month not being a couple but interested in each other.

5 months as a couple.

6 months broken up and completely separated with absolutely zero communication.

Three months after they got back together, they got engaged on the 13th of June 2006. But Edward actually proposed to her on the 22nd of March. They’d been together 5 months, but apart for 6 at that point. They are married two months later on the 13th of August

One month later, on the 13th of September, she’s a mother, wife, and a vampire.

This equates to:

11 months of actual relationship time before she became a vampire and mother.

10 months of relationship time before they’re married

8 months of relationship time before they’re officially engaged

5 months of relationship time before Edward proposed.

They hadn’t even had an entire year together before they got married, had a baby, and she’d entirely changed herself for him, in the most literal sense.

The ENTIRETY of the books’ events don’t even span 2 years. She moves to Forks on the 17th of January, and it’s New Year’s Eve just under 2 years later when the Volturi battle happens. All dates borrowed from the lexicon
