robbie had managed to get into a fight with some random bar bum after winning a couple of games of darts. they’d bet on it and he was set on getting paid. playing people was how he made his income and the guy had been some sort of sore loser, which caused the two to get into a fight and him to get thrown out of the bar. he stumbled out, “oh, yeah! throw out the new guy when he’s trying to get paid! fuckers!” he spat, wiping the blood from his lip soon after. he looked at the person who seemed to be watching. “i thought people would be way more welcoming on an island. i guess i was wrong.”
@inabsentiahq
Lucas witnessed the scene as he was on his way back home, from the restaurant where he had dinner with a few fellow doctors and nurses. It wasn’t a bar that he was familiar with, but he had heard things about it. Not the friendliest bar in the neighborhood.
“Are you alright?” Lucas frowned as he approached the man. There was no judgement on his face, it was purely concerns. “As much as I want to say everyone here is nice and welcoming...It’s not always the true. You should try another bar, Luka’s, perhaps.” He suggested, leaned closer as he observed, searched for any bruise on the other mans’ face. “Why don’t you come here and sit down, let me have a quick check up on you? I am a doctor.” He added, gestured the man to follow him.

Micah walked into the kitchen and placed the dish tray on the bench near the bus boy before he moved through the kitchen and headed into the staff room. “And yet, you still don’t listen.” Micah glanced over at Noah before he moved to his locker. Opening it, Micah pulled out his jacket before he turned to look at his friend fully. “Tell that to the fry pan.” Micah said as he leaned back on the lockers before he sighed. “I can cook dinner, it’s no problem.” Micah pushed a hand through his hair before he shrugged a little. “It’s just another stop on the way Noah, it’s not home. Don’t know how long we will stay here.”
.
“Hey, I really am trying my best, okay?” Noah made a face as he opened his own drawer and pulled out a zipped hoodie, put it on as he watched Micah leaned against his locker. “At least my food is...edible now.” He rolled his eyes, “Fine, you win. I suck at cooking. So yes, please. Thank you for cooking this evening.” He paused for a second, spat out a playful insult, “...Cunt.” Noah couldn’t help but raised a corner of his lip, crossed his arms and looked back at his friend.
“Look, Micah. You know I will run along side you as long as you will have me. But...Don’t you think we can maybe...stop running for a while? Sure, this might not be home. But...don’t you want to give this place a chance? To build a life? This is an isolated island, and we are quite certain that we have completely covered up our trail, no?”

“Extremely.” Eoin offered the other man a tight smile, bothering to crease the page he was at so he might close the Goosebumps book and tuck it away within his coat. “Yer sound a long way from home too,” he added, remarking about the man’s accent which was obviously British. “How long have yer been on the island?”
As a tea shoppe was mentioned, Eoin thought to himself about how very British that all sounded. The Scotsman himself had never been the biggest fan of tea unless it had heaps of sugar poured into it. Otherwise, it tasted like some kind of off-putting water.
Getting to his feet, Eoin walked forward and threw his leg over the barrier between them. Casually lifting up and over the short fence until both legs were on the other side with the man. He could have just walked through the opening not five feet to the left but, where was the fun in that? “Yer will have to be more specific there, lad. There are any number of tea shoppes on the island, considering its inhabitants and how useful tea leaves can be.” He stuck out a hand for the other to shake, introducing himself, “Me name’s Eoin, friend.”
.
“I am indeed,” Lucas nodded, “And so are you.” He offered a smile, rubbed the back of his neck as he watched the man tucked the book away. His eyes peeked at the title of the book, unable to help his curiosity, but he tried to keep that subtle. “Almost a month now, I am...still rather new. Hence the...” He shrugged and gestured to his surrounding, “...Well, you know.” He let out a soft chuckle, amused to find the man swung his legs over the fence to approach him.
“Any tea shop will do, really.” Lucas added, watched the hand for a second before he reached out for a firm shake. “I am Lucas, please to meet you, Eoin.” He said the man’s name, noticed how it rang a bell in his head. Has he heard of the name before? Lucas pondered for a few seconds, wondered.
“So...How long have you been on this island? Much longer than I have, obviously.” Lucas asked, “I came here for work. Wasn’t too sure about this place before I got here. But...Things have been good so far.” He smiled. “But I got to admit, it’s nice to see another person from the UK.”
an-apple-a-day:
Colton shrugged as he followed Derek through the doors towards the elevator. “Maybe so, but I’m also busy and I have a trainee running around the ER. So half an hour will door me.” Colton said as he shifted a little and leaned on the wall and watched Derek. “I suppose I can let you buy me lunch, this one time.” Colton smiled as he walked into the elevator and stood at the back. Habits he could never get out of. “I’m enjoying the Island, is beautiful and peaceful.” Colton said as he leaned his head back and watched the numbers for a moment before he shook his head. “I don’t do social gathering, I prefer to just go home at the end of the day.” Colton said as he looked back to Derek before they walked out of the elevator.
Colton was thankful the café wasn’t too busy, which meant there wasn’t much noise. Colton glanced around the café, scoping out the exits though he knew where they were as he did the every time he came into this place. Colton glanced back at Derek and smiled. “Lasagna is fine.” Colton said as he nodded as he head towards the center of the room, where a table was open. Colton pulled a chair out and sat down, waiting for Derek.
.
“Trainee, right. The doctor with blond hair right? Lucas is the name, I believe?” Derek’s smile widened into a grin with Colton’s response of having Derek paying for his meal. “Just one time? Maybe I will do some reverse psychology, and buy you meals every time when you are not eating or resting properly.” He teased, gave the doctor a playful nudge on the shoulder before he headed off to join the queue.
It didn’t take long before Derek returned with a tray. Lasagna, a glass of milk and an apple. He placed the meal down in front of Colton, sat opposite him and offered him a smile. “Eat up, doctor.” Derek said, “What were you looking at, anyway? I saw you looking around, like you were searching for something.” It was hard to miss it when one has a perfect vampiric sight. “Someone you know?” He asked, pulled out an energy bar from his pocket and slowly removed the packet.
That was not the food he needed. But he figured it would be less awkward for the other man if he had some kind of food in his hand.
“Anyway...Yeah, I don’t really do social gathering either.” Derek nodded, “I do prefer a quiet Friday night than going down to the bar or a club...I will leave those places to the younger spirits.”
ltriggs:
“Everyone needs to get totally hammered from time to time Lucas! It helps,” he assured and then gasped, “Are you saying I could be considered a bad influence?” he joked. “Thanks I guess it’s a habit now. I got used to eating heaty and working out because I needed to be in a good shape for what I did. Even more now,” he shrugged.
“Thanks, man, I appreciate it. I would be careful. I know not everyone knows about this other side of the world and I know how that can impact them so yeah,” he said a little more serious. He wasn’t aware that Lucas was looking at him so when he heard his name, he turned to look at him in the eyes and smiled, “Yeah?” being oblivious wasn’t a good thing sometimes.
.
“...Maybe you are. A terrible influence.” Lucas bit his lower lip, it took him more than a few seconds to react. The way Bas turned and looked him in the eyes, how those lips stretched into a smile...It made his brain went blank. “...Tuesday and Thursday.” Lucas said in a low voice, eyes quickly gazed away and hand reached for the next bottle of beer. “We train.” His throat suddenly went try, he really needed a good swig.
“So...Uh, did you...come here with anyone? To this island, I meant. Or...Is it just yourself?” Lucas didn’t know why he would ask such question. Why should he even be curious over if Bas had a partner or not? Well, partner. Like...A friend, or...someone he is with...This degree of curiosity is normal, right?
“Uh...Anyway, let me know what kind of things you want to do when we train together, okay?”
continued from here @lettherebeleight
Bas was too drunk to even listen so he tried to guide Lucas along with the beat, barely aware that maybe he was being a little too close. He did grin when the blonde followed his lead but then he burst out laughing happily at the question, “That’s such a cliché pick up line Lucas,” he grinned, “No I don’t… I don’t actually dance but this is so much fun isn’t it?”
Lucas let out a shaky breath as Bas closed their distant and guided him through the loud beats of the bass. At least the light was too dark for anyone to catch the blush on his face, Lucas thought to himself. He could hardly understand it, but somehow...Bas had this effect on him. It was both physical and mental, and Lucas sometime hated himself for being so weak against this...whatever this is.
“I-I think...” Lucas looked up and met that charming smile. Felt like his heart has skipped a beat, Lucas bit his lower lip as he tried to relax with Bas’ body brushed lightly against him as the crowd danced around them. “...I really need another whisky,” Lucas finally laughed, “You...You look great this evening.”
He tried. Oh, Lucas really, really tried. But he couldn’t help but felt the urge of slapping himself on the face.
wyatt-chase:
Wyatt’s eyes flicked downwards when Enzo licked his lips before he looked up at the male. “Guess we won’t have the chance to find out will we.” Wyatt smirked as he looked back at the male before he raised his eyebrow when Enzo headed up the stairs. Wyatt sighed before he followed Enzo up the stairs. “Some times it’s our jobs to make sure everything we say is calculated or to please someone.” Wyatt said as he nodded at the bouncer before he walked into the room. He glanced around the room before he sat on the couch. “So what were you trying to tell me?”
.
“Well, we can always start things over. Once we get this curse out of you.” Enzo smirked and rubbed his hands, “And maybe I will try to calculate things more to please you.” He took off his jacket and casually tossed it aside. “I have already told you. Someone put a hex on you and I am in a generous mood to remove it for you.”
His blue eyes gazed toward the man’s shoulder once more, eyes squinted slightly as he reached out with his senses. “...Roll up your sleeve. Or if you won’t mind, take off your shirt. I need to inspect it but to be honest, I am having a grim feeling about this.”
smoothwhiskey-micah:
Micah raised an eyebrow when Noah pulled out a small pack of chocolate before he stuffed into one of Micah’s pocket. “Really, wish you would stop giving me chocolate.” Micah said with a roll of his eyes as he moved down the bar. “How about you cook for a change?” Micah grabbed some more glasses and placed them in the tray, before he watched Noah slid the beer over to the the guy at the bar before he looked back at Noah.
Micah picked up the tray and nodded his head towards one of the other bartenders, down the end of the bar. “Nicky, take over would you.” Micah called out before he headed towards the back of the bar, shaking his head. “We can’t afford to go out again, Noah. It will be the third time this week.”
.
“You wish for a lot of things.” Used to Micah’s harsh words, Noah simply shrugged and gave the man a bright smile. He made a low hum at his friend’s suggestion, perked an eyebrow as he rubbed his hands together.
“I can...most certainly try!” Noah replied, while he was opened to to idea, his face didn’t exactly paint confident. “I mean...I didn’t burn the stir fry too badly last time. So...Three times the charm?”
It has been way more than three times.
“I supposed you are right,” Noah sighed and followed Micah, let Nicky took over the bar as he stuffed his hands casually into his jeans’ pocket. “And I can always save the money for something else. So...We have been on this island for a while now, how are you finding it?”

Asher: Star Wars is so 2021, Ty. Update your references <3
Asher: Tyler.
Asher: Christ.
Asher: I’m not a virgin.
Asher: Not to mention, that if I fuck anybody in the past, it means I’ll probably be fucking one of my dad’s friends and that holds some weird energy that I’m just not for.
Asher: If I fuck this up, my grandfather is going to brutalize me. And when I say brutalize me, I mean I probably won’t survive that fire. Literally. He turns into fire okay? I cannot die like that. I don’t want to die like that.
Asher: Besides, none of them want to fuck me anyway. First time for everything <3

Tyler: A one night stand is different to having sex with the same person multiple times, trust me. You begin to experiment and explore.
Tyler: And who cares? As long as you don’t knock anyone one up or give anyone diseases. Which, back to my original point, use protection.
Tyler: Honestly, it’s more likely for you to mess up the timeline by accidentally turning someone than to have sex with them.
Tyler: And I am warning you. If you think no one wants you, I am going to put you on Tinder just to prove to you how many people swipe right on you. Don’t test me.
Tyler: Because you know, I am always right.
Tyler: You are coming back for dinner, right? I am making pizza.

Tyler: I think it’s time we have that conversation, young Padawan
Tyler: I noticed you have been speaking with a few cute guys lately, which is completely normal. We never had time to stick in a place long enough for you to build up a life. And I totally support you.
Tyler: But I need you to make sure you are exploring it in the right way. So I am here whenever you need me! Emotion support or when you need to know more about the adult-stuff.
Tyler: I left a box of condom next to your bed. Make sure you have it with you all the time, just in case.
Tyler: 😉😉😉

Lucas: Nope, you have a different laugh with adorable animals being funny. Lucas: That’s right. I know you that well, bro. Lucas: Ah, man. Sorry to hear that. That sucks. Should I go grab a few beers from the fridge and come over to your room? Lucas: Wait, what

“You are sounding like the that queen from the prince diaries movies. Are you trying to say you are royalty? I already know someone who is royalty and he is very, very strange but an amazing guy,” he replied chuckling has he nodded following the other and taking a seat on the grass and sat. “Smart man,” he chuckled.
“Nothing much, just work and helping run things. Same old same old,” he answered with a sigh has he took the coffee from the other. “What about you? It’s been ages since I have seen you around.”
.
“Really? I was quoting Gandalf. Please tell me you have watched The Lord of the Rings.” Enzo rolled his eyes and took a sip of his coffee. He shrugged in response to the question, “Let’s see...Had a few interesting cases. For an island this size, there are certainly usually amount of supernatural lurking around.” He made a low hum, pondered, “Not that I should complain. That usually means more jobs for me. Actual job, not looking for missing daughter who ran away with punk boy from a rock band.”
He shot a glance at the other man, lips slowly widened into a smile. “You are right, though. It has been ages. You should join me again sometime with my cases. Admit it, you had fun during that time when we were hunting a corrupted sandman.”

smxll-doses:
if there was one thing malu hated more than anything in the world, it was people treating him like he was dumb. Sure, he was a man of few words and he was big. but malu was as old as time and was far from stupid. so hearing the man compare him to the big, dumb, hulk, it instantly put a bad taste in his mouth.
he looked up watching as the stranger came down from the tree. “go away.’ he snapped as he turned to lift a large boulder over his head, only to throw it further into the forest. he really didn’t have a reason for it. it just felt nice.
“why would i talk about it with you? you’re just a small.. insignificant creature.” he said as he moved towards the tree the stranger had been sitting on, preparing to simply rip it from it’s roots.
.
Somehow his offer headed up the man’s fury instead of defusing it. Enzo made a low hum, well aware he was never the best person to offer comforts. He watched the man threw a large boulder into the forest like it was a nothing but a tiny rock, a few squirrels quickly ran off from a bush to get away from the angry giant.
“Wow, not this one, mate.” Enzo was quick to catch Malu’s attention, “Look up. There.” He pointed toward a branch away from them, a small nest hid behind leaves and smaller branches. “They have only just hatched not long ago, probably haven’t even had their third meal yet.” Enzo muttered, offered Malu a shrug. “Yeah, yeah. I am small and insignificant, sure. But you live in a world full of creatures like me. That means something.” He looked back at the nest above. “It’s easy to break something. But to fix it...Even with magic, things can never go back to the things they were. Like a broken plate. Sure, one can use a spell to fix it until no mark to be seen, but it wouldn’t change the fact that it has been cracked.” He offered an example, hands casually stuffed into his jeans and let Malu made the decision if he was going to rip the tree from its roots of not.
an-apple-a-day:
Colton nodded as he listened to Derek, before he dropped his eyes down watching as the male pick up the pens that were scattered on the desk. Something that was probably Colton’s doing, he always seemed to use every pen on the desk. “Well the ER is alway fun, get the first cases. Sometimes the best, and sometimes the worst.” Colton said as he glanced over at the ER. “But it will help you, if you want to upskill or just want a change of pace.” Colton said as he looked back to Derek, giving him a soft smile.
Colton raised an eyebrow when Lucas took the files out of his arms. “And you are still learning Lucas.” Colton said with a huff before he shook his head. “At least get another senior doctor or nurse to help you out.” Colton called out before he huffed as he looked back at Derek.
Colton bit his lip when Derek offered to by him a meal before he nodded his head as he pushed himself up from the desk before he grabbed his crutch. “Alright, suppose I can take half an hour break. But I’m paying, don’t worry about it.” Colton said as he headed towards the elevator.
.
“The last time I check, meal break is still an hour long.” Derek smiled and moved toward opened the door, waited for Colton to go through before he followed. “I know I am just a nurse, but I can still afford to buy my colleague a meal.” He chuckled and teased, reached for the elevator button and pressed on it before he crossed his arms. “You can let others take care of you once in a while, alright?” He said, focused on the man’s eyes so he could try to ignore the pulses of the veins from that beautiful neck.
“How are you finding the island so far?” Derek asked as they walked into the elevator and asked, “I don’t know about you, but there is this social gathering, organised by the nurses. I won’t be going, but if it’s your thing, it will be great for you to meet more people there.” He made a face, offered a light shrug, “I will, however, stay home and probably do some readings or watch a movie. Or two.”
The elevator doors opened and announced that they have reached their destination. The island hospital, while the food still aren’t the greatest, was at least decent with a nice environment. The full windows allowed natural sun light in, lightened up the entire space. Derek’s thumb moved slightly to touch the sun light ring on his finger, looked toward the queue before he shot a glance at Colton. “I will order for us. What would you like? Meanwhile, you can find us a place to sit.”
an-apple-a-day:
Colton walked back to the desk after seeing a patient, he sat down behind the desk and was about to get back to his paper work when he heard a voice call out to him. Colton smiled as he looked up at the nurse. “Colton, please.” Colton said as he nodded his head when the files were placed on the desk. “Thank you, good of you to bring them by.” Colton said as he picked up the file and glanced at it before he looked back to Derek. He chuckled softly as he nodded his head. “That’s what everyone keeps telling me, as soon as they meet me.” Colton shrugged a little. “I don’t think I’ve seen you down here before, what department do you work in?”
.
“Alright, Colton,” Derek offered a smile. He was so used to put on a friendly face around the hospital, allowed himself to blend in and to be seen as normal as possible. “Right, so we can skip that sort of conversation then. Good. I had plenty when I was the new guy around.” He leaned over to pick up a few pens scattered around the table, placed them back into a holder before he crossed his arms and leaned against the desk slightly. “At the moment? Geriatrics. I think they want to move me to somewhere else, though. I think a male nurse in your department just left and another nurse is in maternal leave, I am pretty sure they are thinking about transferring me to the ER, actually. At least temporary until they can find a replacement.” He shrugged, “But we will see.”
A doctor with blond, short, curly hair walked toward them and pulled the files off Colton’s hands, gave him a look as he opened the files and gave it a quick glance. “Pretty sure you haven’t had any food in the past six hours, Colton.” Lucas shot him a worried look, closed the file and held it in his arm. “I got these. Please go take a break and get some actual food?” He gave Derek a nod, walked off and headed toward the first patient on the file.
Derek licked his lips and peeked back at Colton with a smile. “...Well, they do serve lasagna today at the cafeteria. It’s one of the few things they sell that are actually delicious. Or so I heard.” Felt bad with the previous encounter, Derek gestured toward the elevator, “Why don’t I buy you a meal? To welcome you to the hospital. I can use a break myself.”
