“I don’t know about level-headed,” Asar joked softly, shrugging his shoulders slightly. He could only inwardly curse the flush that bathed his cheeks, turning them a slight pink. “But I can provide company.” He chuckled, blushing a deeper shade as Levi patted his shoulder. Shoving his fists into his pockets, he matched Levi’s pace, squinting as the light assaulted his eyes. It was clear that it had been quite some time since he had been outside, despite the fact that he was in Sawyer’s care, he had yet to really leave the confines of the suite. “Is the sun always this bright?”

“Well, that’s a relief.” He sighed, seeming actually relieved. “I’m glad a madman didn’t get ahold of you… Gods know they exist here, but, I’m glad he isn’t one of them. But patience is a virtue, something, I didn’t think vampires had…” His own words started to bring Sawyer to mind without him consciously being aware of it. “Huh?” Asar blinked, his mind reeling before Levi’s words sunk in. “Sawyer? Oh, no, no he’s… nice… different… but nice. Um, he gets me… So, you don’t need to worry about him.” The dragon explained, chuckling at Levi’s display of toughness.

“Yeah, almost always.” Levi said, lifting his face towards it with a smile. “I actually kinda like it out here. Not so bad when you can keep yourself warm.” he added. “It’s a little warmer in the greenhouse too. Humid, if that’s what you like.” he suggested.

“I mean, for all I know he could still be mad. His fledgling certainly is.” Levi admitted, his brows pulling together slightly. “But he can be reasoned with. He knows I’m not about to give them a reason to take any more from me.” he sighed. “That’s good, but just in case.” he said, pointing at his own eyes then out like an ‘I’m watching you’ motion. “If he lets you walk around when you want, it’s normally pretty easy to find me out here. Or in the Library. I’ve been studying Mandarin.”

Malcolm nudged the blue scales with his nose, impressed that the slave was able to transform this much and surmising that he must have a more lenient master. The gold dragon shuffled a bit closer, practically surrounding the other dragon as his snout came to lay in Levi’s lap.

Levi smiled, running his own scaled hand along the dragon now resting in his lap, appreciating the heat of the creature. He hummed contently, looking up at the sky again. “Is the view from the sky nice here? It’s so far away from any cities there must be forest for miles. I’ve always liked forests.”

Levi nodded, biting his lip. He raised an eyebrow as the boy began to strip, guessing him to be some kind of shifter. The dragon leaned back, sighing fondly as he watched the colors in the sky.

As the other dragon took off beside him his eyes widened, watching him. He scrambled to his feet, eyes not leaving the dragon, a slight swell of envy that he couldn’t do the same. He sighed, running his fingers through his hair and sitting again, holding his hand in front of him and letting his scales come through, the closest he’d been able to get to his true form yet.

Malcolm relaxed as he felt the wind under his wings and the sun warming his scales. He circled the castle for half an hour before finally touching down next to the slave once again. He was was loathe to change back into his human skin, so he simply settled onto the grass next to Levi. It didn’t matter that they didn’t really know each other, Mal felt comfortable enough with the fact that the other dragon was kin, if only in name.

By the time the other dragon returned the blue scales had spread from Levi’s hand up almost to his elbow, nails lengthened into claws. It looked comically small next to the dragon, his scales tiny in comparison. From what Levi could tell, his company was about equal to his own size in dragon form. He certainly seemed relaxed, sitting by him without any worry. He was jealous he couldn't do the same, but maybe it was best that he be reminded he wasn't free.

Levi opened his mouth to speak, but stopped himself, knowing the strain of draconic words on his human throat would be painful. Instead he smiled and nodded gently. "Do you mind if I touch you?" He asked softy.
