As #blackhistorymonth comes to an end... here is one of my first photoshoots. Although it’s clearly my beginning days, it’s still one of my favorite shoots!! It’s a shoot that has so many triumphs for me! 1) It’s the first that I totally designed myself. I put together the entire look! (Check the yellow stilettos!! Yesssss!!!) 2) I had just learned to do my own eyelashes, took me FOREVER! LOL!! But I got it done! 3) Most of all I had been diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia a few months prior. I had no idea how it would affect my bones, and cause anemia! I was so weak and in so much pain. This day was unseasonably warm but windy, I wish you knew how much I was literally shaking!!!! But when the camera flashed i did I could to push through!!! I had to be walked through the park, but i stood firm when I needed to! So this makes me Smile for simple reasons, silly reasons and Strong & Overcoming reasons! I love it!!! I hope you do too!! THIS IS WHAT A FIGHTER LOOKS LIKE! Day #6... Resting and Recovering from surgery on my lower back/spine. Choosing to keep positive outlook and smile through the pain! Had to go to ER this morning... Meet with surgeon and pain management tomorrow.. It appears another surgery and additional treatment may be needed. Of course final decision is mine. I just ask you PLEASE continue to pray for this warrior!! Not giving up or giving in! After tomorrow, some major decisions to be made.. No "What ifs", No "What Abouts",.. No second guessing... No overthinking... No looking back at what was, what once happened or used to be... No my dears.. Look forward, look ahead and be allow yourself to be happy!! Many times we ask God for something, someone and don't realize we have it. We complain about what we don't have, the flaws that are there, the problems that exist (some aren't really even there), meditate on our unhappiness and push love away. We don't stop to see someone genuinely loving us, accepting us, embracing us, finding happiness with us!! We plus size & full figured ladies really have to be grateful for what we are blessed with. My Sisters... I'm learning this too! Pain from the past cauaes you to hold on to yourself and hold back! But I have discovered I can still be ME and let him be the man God designed him to be for me. It's a shame when you have never really had a REAL MAN... It's hard to adjust to having one once he arrives. It's takes some major surrendering and rethinking on our part as women sometimes. If all you have had to be is strong and you have had to do EVERYTHING, it takes the help of God to step back and into the place He designed for you...
