Each life-jacket represents a refugee life lost on the journey to safety to Europe.

I saw this mans yellow rain coat as he was cycling around the outside of the camp. I stopped him and asked could I take his portrait, despite not speaking english very well he smiled and nodded. I asked him to stop in the road, as i turned to compose the shot he carried on cycling towards me. A mixture of language barriers and him just loving cycling ended up with me having to run backwards in the middle of the road to get the shot. I didn't get his name, but he was a very friendly character, laughing and smiling as I photographed him, and even gave me a fist pump as he cycled past me.
Another shot from my current project. This is Diana, from Belgium. Every weekend for the past couple of months Diana has driven over to the Calais Jungle refugee camp with a boot full of donations. Portrait taken as she was getting back in her car to drive home, just after she had handed out all of her donations.
Clément Barbier, a French photographer I met in the Calais Jungle.
I’ve started a documentary project based on Humanising the current refugee crisis around the world.
Many aspects of the crisis are being criticised in the media, and no one will really know the truth until they have witnessed it first hand. The refugees are being tagged as vandals and terrorists, the police are being accused of beatings.
I have visited the Calais refugee camp twice over the last two weekends with the aim to see everyone as a ‘Human’ and pull the person out of the situation they are in. Photographing them as an individual human being.
When you hear the stories of the refugees you quickly realise that these people are humans, just like us. #UsHumans
These 3 little boys were the highlight of my visit this weekend, Non stop giggling as I was taking their portrait.

This poor sod ended up outside my house one morning... after ringing the council to get them to pick him up. A few hours later, a crazy local Italian man came and picked the fox up, apparently to bury it in his garden... Hopefully it was a lovely stew...
