Omar Al-Mukhtar, a hero and the leader of the Libyan resistance against the Italian regime for 20 years, pictured on his arrest. He was subsequently hanged at the age of 70 in 1931. His last words were, ” To God we belong, and to Him we return.”

We don’t live in libya for now :( but we are all from Benghazi.
Today we mourn Amal Shennib, a phenomenal Libyan woman. Part of the inaugural class of Benghazi University, she wrote for Libya Magazine in the 1950's, helped found educational institutions in Benghazi and headed a women's high school in Benghazi--among other things.
فجر اليوم الاربعاء 27 مايو 2015 .. فقدت ليبيا ابنة مخلصة من بناتها الفاضلات . رحلت الى رحاب الله السيدة امل عمر فائق شنيب عن عمر بلغ خمسة وثمانين عاما . ولدت السيدة امل فى دمشق عام 1935 . كانت الاسرة قد هاجرت الى الشام فترة الاحتلال الايطالى وكان والدها الرجل الوطنى عمر شنيب فى مقدمة المناضلين الليبيين هناك . اسهم بجهده وعرقه ودمه فى تلك الجهود الوطنية . وفى هذه الاجواء عاشت وتربت مع اشقائها وشقيقاتها .
