Cybertronian Units of Time

I damn near had an aneurysm trying to figure this out, so first lemme preface it--I headcanon that Cybertron's planet orbits and rotates at a much, much slower rate than earth, which gives Cybertronians a different value of time as a whole. They find comfort in that they have so much of it, and so they don't value it nearly as much as we humans do. In short, they're incredibly bad procrastinators lol.

They value their age in terms of 'vorns'. A stellar cycle is the time it takes for their planet to make a round around the sun.

Anyways, here's the time units I'm using for Mad Bird whenever I reference them. (otherwise I'll mainly be using human references)

Nano-Klik = 1/100th of a klik (4.98 seconds ~ *reasoning* 4.98 * 100 = 498 s and 498 s / 60 s = 8.3 mins) – cybertronian second

Klik = 8.3 mins – cybertronian minute

Mega-klik = 50 kliks (415 mins ~ 6.9 hrs) – cybertronian half hour

Joor = 100 kliks (830 mins ~ 13.8 hrs) – cybertronian hour

Cycle = 1,000 kliks ~ 10 Joors (8300 mins ~ 5.76 days) – cybertronian day

Mega-Cycle = 5,000 kliks ~ 5 Cycles (41500 mins ~ 28 days ~ 4.12 weeks) – cybertronian week

Quartax = 15,000 kliks ~ 3 Mega-Cycles (124500 mins ~ 12.35 weeks ~ 2.84 months) – cybertronian quarter-month

Orn = 60,000 kliks ~ 4 Quartaxes (498,000 mins ~ 49.4 weeks ~ 11.4 months) – cybertronian month

Stellar Cycle = 600,000 kliks ~ 10 Orns (4,980,000 mins ~ 113.7 months ~ 9.5 years) – cybertronian year

Vorn = 100 Stellar Cycles (498,000,000 mins ~ 947.5 years) – cybertronian century

So essentially I began with Cybertronian units with explicit definitions in canon that are also widely used in fandom (ie. Vorn = 83 years, Joor = 6 hours, Groon = 1 hour). I then worked my way out from those and tried to keep to rough factors of 6/8/10.

Some terms that did have explicit canon definitions had to be slightly skewed from their value (ie. Breem: 8 → 6 minutes, Klik: 8 → 6 seconds) if their definition contradicted another definition that made more sense/fit better.

At any rate, obviously no one is obligated to use this standard, but canon Transformers content has been unfortunately… awful at establishing any universal units of time, their relationship to each other, or their equivalents to human units of time.

So this occasionally makes fanfiction an absolute nightmare for people like me with a crap memory who don’t want to constantly have to scroll through a thousand pages of the wiki to remind themselves what the hell a groon is.

So, naturally, I simply spent far too long whipping up this at-a-glance guide to keep track of it & on the off chance that the fandom might adopt it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Oh my god, it's more unpaid Twitter rent. Twitter's London headquarters are on Crown Estate land, they're the landlord.

Given that Prince Charles is still trying desperately to make us like him and has started putting a lot of publicly-known-about Crown Estate profits into the public purse, I wonder if the same would happen here if we all... made a fuss? Turned this into a public case? Made it clear this one is perfect for His Maj's please-stop-hating-me personal campaign?
