Hm. Interesting. Apparently cortisol production depletes magnesium stores. And I have a lot of symptomatic overlap with magnesium deficiency. And it can apparently help migraine. And ADHD. I think I'm going to try supplementing magnesium glycinate. L-threonate sounds really interesting too as that's magnesium that can cross the blood-brain barrier and apparently is super useful for memory and shit.

listen, sometimes it's more powerful for a fictional relationship to be a friendship precisely because friendship is devalued in comparison to romance. anyone can sacrifice themself for the love of their life. but for a friend? if anything, that kind of devotion can be even more moving than if the relationship is romantic. there's a real dramatic power to prioritising friendship in your narratives sometimes.

No spoilers but I fully believe this is one of the ten million factors that makes Expedition 33 so good.

Sibling and family relationships are used are the strongest active relationships we see, sex happens as a cut scene off scene with no intention of showing anything (in a dialouge you can skip), and friendship and love of your community was the only thing keeping you alive. The phrase repeated after each heartbreaking turn is "WHEN one falls, we continue" not If, and that is the point. You have to love someone else deeper than can be shown by physical affection in order to have even the smallest chance to make it. The question of what we owe each other just ramps up in intensity the whole game.

Even the romantic opening is centered around showing how the main characters refused to allow romantic feelings to dictate their life choices.
