niche/underrated martin freeman characters i like
Ed Robinson (The Robinsons): his parents are strict and permissive at the same time. they spoil him but also treat him like shit. his sister is an extreme perfectionist and probably neurodivergent. his brother needs to have things organized and planned or he explodes and is also probably neurodivergent. he's the only one in his family who doesn't have a need for perfeccionism. he's 32. he has bad luck with work. he has bad luck with love. he doesn't know what he likes or who he is or how to describe his personality and relies entirely on the opinion of other people. he's just so pathetic. i want him to succeed but also, he kind of deserves it. i love him and i hate him and i think he's my fav from this list
Mike Dunkley (Hardware): he's funny. i would say he has the only braincell of his group but that's not even true, his girlfriend has it and shares it with him out of compassion. his coworkers make him go crazy. he acts rude and then feels like shit and apologizes. he hates rude customers. he hates kind customers. he hates having customers, he just wants to build and fix stuff and hang out with his friends. sometimes. when they're not driving him crazy. he's not that pathetic but i still love him
Ricky Beck (Casualty): ASSHOLE. such a rude guy uhg. he puts himself in his own misery and everything was his fault. he's a chav. he thinks he's cooler than he is. he can be anything but he will never be racist. he takes the iron bar that stabbed his leg and uses it to threaten the doctors thinking he's being smart but then just bleeds out and leaves a blood mess in the hospital. he's unpredictable and an absolute asshole and i love him.
Frank (I Just Want To Kiss You): he's just a little guy that wants to hang out with his best friend (and kiss him) and spend some cute time together in the theathre but his father is an abusive asshole and his best friend is actually Not That Good and Not Into Him. and frank ends up being the victim of it all. nothing was his fault and i wanna tuck him up in bed and protect him at all costs. free my frank #my frank
Vila (Blakes Junction 7): another little guy. he's like a little brother that wants his divorced parent's attention and that's like "i miss dad :(" and his other parent has to say like "uhm he's gonna come soon and bring you lots of gifts!" while he knows that's never gonna happen. and he's just so cute.
Kevin (Call Register and Rubbish): nothing turns out good for him. he's into a girl that then turns out is his friend's ex and doesn't really cares about kevin. he tries to impress another girl by pretending he does recycling and using his friend's name but the girl ends up falling for his friend instead of him. and the only good outcome was that he learned how to recycle. i hope he gives up the having a girlfriend thing cause that's not working for him 💔 also he's CUTE!!!!
Gregory Wilson (Other People): he's so fucking pathetic and like, at first it was deserved because he was an arrogant bitch when he was younger but now it's like. yeah we got it please stop. he was a microcelebrity in his youth and he did magic tricks and stuff in tv and nobody liked him. now he works in a furniture store where also nobody likes him and has a sort of boss who makes self insert fanfics in his head but does it while talking loudly. the only person that asked for an authograph was a dickhead that tried to take money from him accusing him of beating her up. it's like. Please Stop. he got his karma already. his life is so pathetic he didn't even got a full show, just a pilot 😔
The Pig (Lonely Hearts): he's just a little pig plushie that comes to life to help his owner get over his ex wife 🥹 and he's just a little guy and i love him
charlie (The Dog and The Woman): badass dog, just that. he's cool. he does some badass things that i won't tell because it's a spoiler but believe me he's a cool as fuck dog 💯
