Big fan of characters realizing they don't get to die. They have to live. And grow. And be a person. And deal with shit they thought they'd never have to. And be fucked up about it. I would like more of this. Enough dying for honor or as redemption. It ain't. You're just a corpse. There is no moral value in dirt time.

There is no ‘rest of the Mona Lisa’ - it doesn’t exist.
Tech bros fundamentally don’t understand art, and it’s why all AI art looks ugly as sin.
The mona lisa was actually a landscape painting but this random woman decided to just like sit there and block the view and da Vinci just rolled with it
i feel like the fundamental issue that i have with AI art is that it misunderstands why art is interesting. it's not just about a production of images. like yeah of course it can produce images. neat! fun trick! but what makes art interesting is that a person made it. like fundamentally that's what makes it interesting. an ai did some math and was like "this line has to continue so it's going to continue." like, ok? whatever? i wanna know about her eyebrows and the decision to leave them on or take them off. a person decided that. da vinci developed a whole set of skills and talents and then used them and made decisions about why, some technical, some based on vibes, some probably to do with some random thoughts he was having at the time, some probably, yes, based on math and continuity of lines. what's interesting IS THAT a person made it!!!! not just the thing itself!! if pretty landscapes themselves were the interesting thing we'd all just go stand and stare at mountains!!!
idk like this guy being like oOoOo My Robot Painted A Mountain like ok that's great for your robot i simply do not care

you know what? go to your local library.
nobody cares if you just want to read Twitter with the free wifi. in fact we’re ecstatic you’re there.
don’t be afraid to touch the books. hell, taking them off the shelf and leaving them on shelving carts is one of the main ways the library counts usage and foot traffic, so don’t reshelve them yourself and don’t be afraid of looking at them!
most libraries now allow covered drinks, and many have special areas where you’re allowed to bring something to eat. have your lunch there, it’s quiet!
lovely large tables for crafts or art? they have you covered!
magazines and periodicals so you can read the newest events or pick up a new recipe? check!
you can even just watch a DVD if you have the appropriate portable screen and courtesy headphones.
GO to the library. LOVE the library. USE the library. you already paid for it!!
Fun fact- if you want to learn how to use software like Photoshop or illustrator, larger library branches sometimes have them available. For free. Just chillin there for you to use and not pay outrageous monthly fees for.
Just found this out and am going to take full advantage of it during my free time.
You can do and learn so much at the library. If you’re broke, make this your second home. If you’re not broke, SUPPORT THIS INSTITUTION!
The Library Is a Magical Place and You Should Fucking Go There
diet culture is so rooted in the idea that our bodies are machines that our minds have to outwit. it pushes for the idea that hunger is something you have to “beat”, that cravings are an annoyance to ignore or outwit, that the way our bodies want to look and want to be is something to fight, that it needs to be helped to do things it was built to do.
here is the liberating truth- your body is so smart and it is trying to help you. it works so hard to keep you alive- sometimes it fails at what it’s trying to do, sometimes it does it in unconvential ways, but it is trying to keep you alive! hunger is our body saying “we need food”- it’s not something to ignore or supress. cravings are our body saying “we need a specific type of food”- they aren’t something to trick or prevent. natural weight and weight distribution are our body saying “this is the shape in which we work best”- they aren’t something to control or reduce. denying this is what hurts us most- even though diet culture tries to tell us that listening to our bodies and treating them with kindness and forgiveness is wrong.

this has been said before but i think its worth saying a trillion times so:
in a country without universal healthcare requiring a doctor’s note to excuse an absence is classism. like bare naked classism.

Daughters really do share deep rooted emotional trauma with/inherit deep rooted emotional trauma from their mothers and I know it’s true bc whenever I try to approach a sensitive topic with my mom, no matter how calm and civil and patient I intend to be no matter how much I’ve practiced what I want to say no matter how OK I was even a moment before, I always involuntarily burst into desperate, angry hysterics the moment I open my mouth. As though it’s coming from a place buried so far within me I cannot even register its existence until it has overtaken me. And I know I’m not alone on this either. There is so much we internalize from our mothers that we never learn to contend with. That we never even learn to recognize
“At the macro level, the mother wound is a matrilineal wound—a burden that manifests in mothers, and is passed on from generation to generation. It’s the pain and grief that grow in a woman as she tries to explore and understand her power and potential in a society that doesn’t make room for either, forcing her to internalize the dysfunctional coping mechanisms learned by previous generations of women. The mother wound reflects the challenges a woman faces as she goes through transformations in her life in a society where the patriarchy has denied us ongoing matrilineal knowledge and structures.”
