001 ------ 𝙃𝙀𝘼𝘿𝘾𝘼𝙉𝙊𝙉!

sora’s mom is a single mother &. has been for some time . sora doesn’t know him much at all , as maybe about a year or two after his birth , he went out to sea . it was his job; being captain of said ship . it was to be a lengthy voyage , very worth the danger in terms of compensation , but it proved too dangerous . of some 60 something to 80 men aboard , only about 2-3 actually made it , one being his dad’s first mate . he came to break the news personally , &. sora’s mother was a wreck . he pledged to help them out however he could always .

sora was never the wiser of his father’s demise , &. his mother hadn’t the heart to tell him . as he becomes a young adult , he does ponder to himself from time to time whether his dad is even around to this day , but like most bad thoughts , he doesn’t dwell . he prefers to appreciate his mom for being so strong for him &. doing her best to protect his heart .

you could say sora’s excitement around the concept of being a pirate captain comes straight from his dad , it’s like------literally in his blood .
