jƧp sĆ«phƵraā¢donāthaha kind of true but I have lifted there successfully once before and known someone who lifted there frequently without trouble, so itās not impossible, but that being said, a very large portion of caught stories comes from there, so unless youāre very comfortable, Iād stay away. anyways my techniques for makeup are all pretty much the same so this applies to Ć¼lta too (though uÅta is easier IMO, and they donāt have dedicated LP at one store all the time)
basically I donāt get the totes unless theyāre offered to me because I feel way more sus with them because like?? if Iām just looking why would I have one?? unless Iām holding a lot I wonāt have get one because I feel sus just piling shit in there, and LP will watch if you do
so this is WITHOUT a tote
one of my main methods is sleeving things which I havenāt been able to do bc of hot weather, which is why Iāve slowed down a lot on makeup (and also that time I almost got caught in sĆŖphƶra six months ago lmao). but if thereās a rainy day, you can slip stuff up the sleeve of a raincoat, for one, or if itās colder wherever you are, then you can do with the same with a light jacket or sweater
the phone method is a classic that Iāve used a lot lately! pull out a lipstick or single shadow or something, slip it into your palm under your phone, pull out a few more and put them back at different intervals to make any cameras confused about if you still have any, then walk away and slip your phone and the item into your pocket/purse when in a blindspot
classic lightning conceal is a trusty tool, if not a slightly riskier one because thereās no mistaking whatās going on. find a good blindspot, then conceal your item as fast as humanly possible. you can also try to make it subtleāe.g. reaching to adjust your hair and dropping an item into a hood. whichever is your preference
for the most part I rotate between these. itās mostly geared for smaller items just because I donāt have the balls to lift anything like palettes, but theyāve always been effective in my experience. the one time I was almost caught was because I was seen concealing since I was wearing a jacket I hadnāt practiced with beforehand, like a proper dumbass. practice before you go so you donāt jamble the item in your hand long enough to get seen like I did that once. that shitās terrifying, and makeup really is the hardest thing to lift, so be careful
