IPIM 12 - Teaser/Sneak Peak

The pier was busy, bustling with couples and a few token kids holding balloon animals. But Will liked the feeling. The big city felt made for him, molded specially for his own prosperity. He couldn’t help thinking of how it might taste in his mouth to ask if he could stay. Stay with Mike. Another term or thousands more. He shouldn’t think of it so early, after all, they had only been dating for a week. But Will had always gotten a feeling when he met people. His secret Spidey-sense that didn’t save the world. But despite not wanting to admit it, he had gotten a good feeling when he met Mike. When he talked with him that night after a failure of a campaign. Mike felt like home. And he couldn’t justify it, or even explain it, but he felt like it wasn’t so silly to dream of a future with him. 

“You getting out or do I have to bridal carry you all the way to the ice-cream stand?” Mike teased. 

If Will was honest, he hadn’t even noticed that Robin and Mike had exited the vehicle, but he could play it off as tactic over daydreaming, “Well, I had expected that you would be so kind as to do so.” He lowered his brow, urging on Mike’s reaction.  

“What, was that in the contract too?” Mike asked, smiling too wide to keep up the act of annoyance.  

“Of course it was! God, it’s like you never even read it!” Will exclaimed, widening his features.  

“Yeah, yeah. Now get out of the car before I drag you there.” Mike said, tossing him a gentle hand. And reluctantly, Will took it, his weight lifting off the seat and into Mike’s warmth.  

He could practically feel the blush flooding his cheeks as he evaluated the line between them, so thin and easy to cross. Mike’s freckles were clear in the sunlight; the close proximity only tugging on Will’s sleeve and begging him to trace each freckle like constellations with his lips. And the thought was tempting. Oh, so tempting.  

Mike took a quick glance behind him, as if he was searching for witnesses. Robin was already far into the crowd, disappearing into the pier. And that was conformation enough for Mike it seemed. “Orrrrr, you know, maybe we could stay just a few minutes.” Mike breathed out, his voice raspy like a rough whisper.

IPIM (It's Poetry in Motion) and LWTUA (Love Will Tear Us Apart) update

Hello! I'm sorry I haven't been able to upload at the frequency we've wanted. As some of you may know I'm currently in the process of moving across the country. So, that's added a strain to my writing. A lot of people have been asking about IPIM, and I'm so sorry it's taken so long!! I'd love to get something out; I simply just don't have the time right now. As for Love Will Tear Us Apart, me and my collaborator currently are in some sort of break from each other. Don't worry! We haven't fought, or anything along those lines, we just simply aren't matching up right now and have been taking some time apart. Which has put a strain on collaborating on chapter releases and sending each other our work as we just aren't clicking right now. I'm hoping to get some progress out soon for both fics, but for now I'm going to put this on a raincheck for my stress level and complications. As always, I love you all dearly and it means a lot to me that you guys even want an update, but I unfortunately cannot provide one at this time. -Lightbulb <3

Will sat on the edge of the truck, swinging his legs slightly before jumping down. He sprawled out his hand, gesturing toward the shovel in Mike’s hands. “Here, I can hold it.” 

“Uh excuse me? This is my shovel.” Mike jested, waving his hand across the handle.  

“Mike I’m stronger, I can carry it.” Will demanded, rolling his eyes at Mike’s hesitation. 

“It’s a shovel, not a dumbbell, it’s not even that heavy.” Mike protested, widening his eyes in disbelief. 

“For you it is!” Will exclaimed, gesturing to Mike’s spaghetti-thin arms. 

“I can’t believe you right now.” Mike teased standing still and unamused, though secretly, he kind of was amused. “It’s not my fault you got jacked in California.” He continued, closing the back of the truck. It only took a moment before he stepped back, realizing what he said. “I mean not jac—” 

“Jacked? I got jacked?” He laughed, raising a brow.  

“Shut up! You know what I mean.” Mike exasperated, face suddenly warm.  

“No. I actually don’t, please do explain.” He requested, folding his arms. 

Before Mike could stammer a sentence of ‘you know, you look healthy’s and ‘you know you just uh’s, Murray shouted to the pair. “You know the apocalypse is upon us! There isn’t time for romance!”  

Mike’s face grew hot, stomach churning in the most unsettling way. What the fuck did Murray mean? What was his problem? Mike wasn’t… like that. He wasn’t a queer. No matter how many times Andy said it, it would never be true. Why would Murray be so cruel? He knew if he said anything back it would be worse, so he stayed quiet, awkwardly catching up to the group.
