Tomodachi life antics with gentlebeard
Quick ed and stede
I love them
more old art i am slowly migrating over to tumblr lol
I am such a fan of all the many expressions and glances that these two exchange just in this scene. Ed's annoyance/boredom, Stede's surprise, Ed just deciding to double down on his "killing a Prussian" comment, Stede's "....noooooo"...
their favourite colour is teal

"Well, one can only hope he's talking to us, in which case: WOW!"
Ed and Stede 'staring into' each others eyes VS Actually Looking at each other
When we see just one of them in shot, it usually suggests there's some kind of disconnect between them. Whether that's emotional distance or physical or both, it's always used consciously.
In the Dream Beach scene, their conversation only shows one of them at a time. It appears romantic (classic Stede) but in reality we know there's a big disconnect between them at this time.
Compare it to this unused shot of the same scene - particularly the points of contact between them - it creates much more depth and emotion. It seems more real.
We see it in the morning-after scene, and the Real Beach scene too. Emotionally, they're a lot closer now. They are also acting to each other, not to camera, and it truly rounds out the moment.
When we see both of them together, when the actors are actually looking at each other, it has a greater impact and that's deliberate!
((Partly because those two bitches look at each other so adoringly, something is lost when they're speaking to the camera instead))
It's always a kicker to see the crew choosing to spend time with each other before the probable death sentence......
Especially since we know on Zheng's ship everyone has specific jobs. Yet they seemingly ignore all duties in favour of being as close as they possibly can be with the rest of their crew in boat-jail.
Stede should've just responded to Izzy like 'i rescued your ass from the jail of a literal pirate queen and my crew are the only reason you're still alive. so quiet down, bucko.'
It would've been deeply therapeutic for Stede (and well deserved too)
