lightning-strykes:
Loch’s power was letting him bounce excitedly in the air for a moment. This was going to be so cool! It had been ages since he had last gotten to go to the carnival, and now he’d get to show it off to his new friend too! “Oh yeah, there’s rides to go on, all sorts of awesome food, games to play with prizes to win, so much to do!”
They came up on the entrance to a park, all of the trees in full growth at the moment. “This here is a pretty neat park Aurora. It’s a great place if you need to just relax because it’s always empty enough regardless of the time of day.” And indeed, there were barely any other people in view of the two of them at the moment. It was a simple, enjoyable walk, until there was a soft click from behind them and something poked Loch in the back.
“How about you and your girlfriend hand over your wallets and then you can continue on your date?” asked a voice from behind them both. Loch could see someone standing behind Aurora as well. He just sighed and rolled his eyes. His kinesis was already forming a barrier on his back that the knife would never get through or even scratch up his shirt. And he knew Aurora was too tough to be in any danger.
“Really? The sun’s even still up…” He turned to look over at her. “Don’t suppose you’ve got the meaning of mugging in your head? Robbing, thieving, burglary, etcetera?”
Rides, food, prizes? That sure sounded like a good entertainment. Maybe if she wouldn’t think about her lost memories for a while, it would make them return easier? Aurora smiled to his explanation of the park, and enjoyed the little walk through nature. Once she felt something be pressed against her back - against her armor, to be precise, so she wasn’t entirely sure what it was - and hear the words of someone behind them, her mind promptly clicked into ‘battle mode’. She listened to Loch’s words and looked at him while he spoke, but she wasn’t really taking his words in to process them.
She tilted her head a little without looking back, as a glow slowly formed in her eyes. “If you want to threaten me, you should at least not point your thing against my armor,” she said, sliding down a little until the weapon in her back was actually pointed onto the clothes on the back of her shoulders and not against the armor below. “But even then. Bad idea.” She dropped herself towards the ground, catching her body through flight before it would touch the ground and immediately pushing backwards - basically a for humans impossible form of kicking the one behind her to a distance, and once the kick was done, she unleashed a blast of her energy to push them even further away.
“I’ll show you some real threatening!” She didn’t even really notice her own words - her whole fighting now was just like a big reflex. Her eyes glowed strongly now, and she charged energy in her hands too. Lifting herself a little off the ground, she then begun throwing starbolt after starbolt down, she was so in ‘fightmode’ now that she probably wouldn’t even notice when the other side surrenders or… worse. “That’s how you get someone to do what you want, not your little toys!”
Loch rose an eyebrow in surprise at Aurora’s taunt at the mugger, finding himself smirking as she adjusted the gun against her back. How he managed to stop himself from laughing he would never know. As soon as she moved to attack her target, he followed suit, throwing back his elbow at the face of his mugger as he was distracted watching Aurora going at it. A small added push of kinesis threw the man hard to the ground, his hands pressed to a bloody nose.
Loch was about to prepare electricity to stun the guys when he found himself surprised by the light coming from Aurora. He jumped to the side as dust flew up from her attacks, watching the bad guys being sent tumbling from all the blasts. “Whoa, hey, Aurora, I think they get the picture.” He reached out to her, but she appeared lost in a rage. Did something about this scenario trigger something in her mind?
He needed to get her out of here now, before she caused too much destruction to the park or anyone. Seeing no other option, Loch flew himself at her, glad she already had herself flying. He tried to tackle her, wrapping his arms around her and trapping her arms at her side, and get them both to a nearby rooftop to figure out what had happened.
