‘Ω’ and I’ll tell you what my character(s) thinks of yours.
Raphael is very protective of Renoir (I think that’s pretty much constant but he doesn’t express it very well, but it’s still easy to tell, at least for the ones who know Raph the best).
In the start I think he took him in because he missed the concept of family and so it was a good deed but an egotistical one - Luckily for Raph the mutant he saved actually turned around and saved HIM from his self destructive ways, but that didn’t dawn to him before later.
In general from a day to day basis too, he actually “healed” by simply having Renoir there, and by building and training a younger version of “himself” ( even giving him his old gear ) helped him begin to accept himself again and to warm up to the feeling of being “healed” Finding Renoir was the start of brighter days for Raph, and he even though they have an unhealthy relationship with Raph manhandling him and pushing him around and in general being a jerk, even denying Renoir his past (plus failing to train him properly) he looks back at their time together so far quite fondly, and can’t picture anything else than it to continue.
He does love Renoir, and it’s a different love than with his brothers, and that’s why he’s even more protective of him than of Mikey. He definitely feels responsible for Renoir, but sort of like with mikey he still fails to look after him, which is a constant feed to his self-loathing sadly.
