Let's clear some things up because this is the last thing I'm posting on this thread.
The original post was probably not meant as a criticism of communism but a criticism of the dangerous friendship being formed between Trump and Putin and our indifference to the war in Ukraine, which could lead to the Russian re-occupation of much of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
My response was not a criticism of communism but an explanation of the horrors of the USSR. Many people do not know about this because so much of their internet comes from western sources.
I was not "indoctrinated" by the US school system, because the US school system has never once taught me about life in the USSR. I have developed this point of view by talking to people from Georgia, Lithuania, Estonia, and Ukraine, both in-person and online. People who's countries have been subjected to ethnic cleansing, genocide, wars and mass deportation under the USSR.
Russia is a colonialist power that is still trying to colonize to this day.
In georgia, during the Soviet union, 15,000 people were executed by the soviets.
In the baltic states, during the Soviet union, over 200,000 people were deported from their countries to Siberia, mostly women and children.
Over 30,000 Ukrainians have been killed in the Ukraine war as of last month.
And I know I'm not going to change anyone's mind who's a huge supporter of communism- but my point isn't to change your mind it's to please listen to eastern Europeans who have actually gone through the Soviet union, and please for the love of all that is holy, pick a better example of communism without erasing the death and suffering of millions of people.
And stop calling me slurs that would be great too.
