Fiona Apple - Not About Love
Raccontare una ferita significa già tentare di guarirla.
Roberto Saviano, writer (Genova; October 14th, 2017).
* To open up about your scars means you’re already trying to heal them.
Some Lilac Activism.
Hi guys (:, <3 ... here comes the update I had promised to you all - a little while ago... - about my volunteering (which is something that I am really into now and really glad to tell you all about :) ..!!). Well: day after day, I’ve been getting more and more involved into supporting actively the cause against Eating Disorders and am now officially part - as a member - of one of Italy’s main Associations fighting for that cause along with raising Awareness of Eating Disorders themselves and supporting both patients suffering from such painful illnesses and their families ... and so much more!
The Association I am talking you about is called Mi Nutro Di Vita and got founded back in 2012 by an awesome and brave father (Stefano Tavilla) who, earlier that same year, had lost his teen daughter to Bulimia ... if you want, you can have a look and find out more about the organization, and what we do, here: http://www.minutrodivita.it/page.php?5 ... and if you click on this link: http://www.minutrodivita.it/page.php?50 and scroll down the page, you’ll see some of our faces pop up as well (including mine - I’m Barbara ;) - !).
LAST BUT NOT LEAST ... a Lilac Ribbon is the official symbol of our Campaign and activism... hence the title of this post (:. Oh, and... for all of you Igers out there, we also run an Instagram account: @minutrodivitalilla ! I’ll be just glad to keep you all posted on our future updates (and activities!), if you want ... and I am grateful to each one of you who has been reading through all of this <3.
All my love and beyond, xoxoxo
Friends.
You realize you’ve been blessed with awesome friends when they would check on you just because they haven’t been hearing from you for just 2 days in a row* ;).
( ...*as they haven’t forgotten about the messy past you’ve been through :-* ...).

It’s been SO long ...
... Hey everyone :). It’s been SO incredibly long since I last stopped by and posted something on here...! Any ways... here I go again <3. So much has been goin’ on over the last months and I guess I owe you all a bit of an update ...truth is: Life has been "taking over", you know, so... I‘ve been busy as Hell basically just living: ‘been helping my sister move home (and, geez, how I miss her at times :’) ...!), ‘been applying to get back to work (I now officially am a Primary School teacher guys :-]!!) ... above all, though, I’ve been damn busy keeping myself on the right track ... also known as: the road to full Recovery. AND ... I have been volunteering! (I will be making a more detailed post about this soon!!).
As for my photography... I’m in a phase where I’m just takin’ a little, temporary break from it ;) ... as I’ve been focusing more on the above things.
Hope you are all doing great! I’ve been missing this place quite a bit... its warmth and all of its hidden stories... as well as many of my favorite photographers :~) ...
I hope you all get the chance to live like you’re dying.

... AND, here’s the ADAM Association presentation brochure ...also featuring my “Guarire é ...” shot :)!! (See my previous post for more details about it <3!). The awesome front cover picture is to be credited to my dear friend Sandra :-].
Now, I know I will never be a famous / popular photographer ;) ... and I am also aware I won’t ever make it to being reblogged and/or featured in any of those popular Photography curating blogs :P, but... this, this makes up for all of that to me!
I SUPPORT THIS CAUSE!
The above picture <3 ... well, it’s a picture I took for the ADAM Association photographic Project against Eating Disorders “Guarire é ...” (”Recovery means ...”), which has been conceived, curated and promoted by ADAM’s young and awesome President Sandra (who also is into Photography herself!!) :).
“Guarire é ... is an Italian on-going photographic Project which aims to collect as many pictures and messages of Hope as possible from those who have been dealing - for various reasons and at any level - with an Eating Disorder. Through this Project, everyone is invited to share their own idea of Recovery, in order to remind sufferers, families and carers that: Recovery is ...POSSIBLE!”
So: what does Recovery represent to you? What does it mean to you? The more we are to spread the message, the better it is :-]!! The writing in my photograph says: Recovery means... to turn the page! A big, warm Thank You goes on to my lovely sister, who hand - modeled for me ;) ... (Click on the picture to view a Video presentation of the Project!).

If you’re in recovery from a restrictive eating disorder, it’s probably not okay to skip your snacks or eat your meals later than usual.
It might be okay for someone who doesn’t have an eating disorder, but that someone isn’t you.
Even if you’ve been in recovery for a long time, your body still needs consistency.
Although I know all of the above may sound odd... crazy... weird... or even completely pointless to those who have never suffered from an Eating Disorder, I believe that’s really one of the most important Pro-Recovery reminders <3... and I’m so glad that someone wrote it down :).
Consistency is the key. I know it’s easier said than done, but... really no thing can trigger a relapse like lack of consistency while you’re on your road to Recovery.
I want to be a better person.
Being a better person requires being a person,
Not a skeleton
Or a ghost
Or an empty shell
Or an illness.
A person.
The mime in downtown Chamonix (France) ... (Photo credits go to: Like Rocks In Riots).
- Nope, the black silhouette on the right side of the picture is not that of a statue ;) ...it’s a mime’s :)... he’s been tirelessly working in downtown Chamonix for over a decade now... Every single day, no matter what Season we’re in, no matter what the weather is like outside... he would just wake up and dress himself all up 18th-Century-style, paint his face and hands in sooty black and some kind of gold dust ...and then go out on the street and keep playing his humble show for the tourists and the kids (: . -
