Rook Appreciation Week 2026 | Day 7 | Grief

It’s the last day of Rook Week and for today’s prompt, I chose Grief. I feel like this prompt is really fitting for Rook. He loses so much by the end of Veilguard and there’s a lot of emotions he has to work through. It feels bittersweet to post this after I finished my first playthrough with Rook a few days ago. The last few quests of the game are so sad and I imagine Rook takes a moment to break down by himself when it’s all over.

I had a lot of fun participating in Rook Week this year! I hope you enjoyed the pieces I made for it and I’m hoping to share even more about Rook in the future!

Rook Appreciation Week 2026 | Day 6 | Knives

Today’s drawing is a little different because it’s the only one I made that doesn’t actually show Rook in the drawing. However, it shows the knives that he uses most throughout his story. Twist of the Veil, Solas’s Lyrium Dagger, and Mythal’s Light are the knives that help Rook the most during his journey to save the world. Even as a mage, Rook is very skilled with a dagger and knows when one is needed. It was fun drawing each one, especially because I don’t draw things like this very often. I can’t believe tomorrow is the last day, but I’m really excited to show you what I did for the next prompt! In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this one 💕

I don’t want to interrupt my rook week posting, but I just wanted to say that I just finished my main playthrough of Veilguard with my Rook today and I’m so very emotional about it I’m actually going to cry-

You guys don’t understand how much this game (and Rook as a character) means to me like I’ve been playing this game and this particular save for almost a year now, just taking it slow and really enjoying having fun with it and now it’s over

I know I can play it again but I still feel a little emotional about it. It feels like something big just ended for me

Love you Rook and I can’t wait to play you again 💕

It’s day five, and for this one, I had bigger plans (I wanted to make a comic) but I ran out of time. That’s what I get for trying to cram rook week and artfight prep into one month of nonstop drawing 😂 but despite that, I really love how this looks! Drawing in greyscale is always fun, and I’m particularly proud of how Rook’s expression turned out. He looks so moody haha

There’s not much to say other than I just wanted to draw Rook and Solas being angry at each other in the fade prison LOL

Rook Appreciation Week 2026 | Day 4 | Couch

I’m a little late to posting this, but this piece is probably my favorite drawing I’ve done of Rook for rook week so far so I’m excited to share it! I chose to do one of the extra prompts for today because I got inspired by a photo I saw on Pinterest (it’s under the cut if you want to see it) and it immediately made me think of Rook and Assan. I just love that they’re both so cuddly and cozy oughhhhh and I also really wanted to draw his scars because Rook has a lot of them so I did that here too

I hope you enjoy this drawing of the two of them snoozin’ on the couch in Rook’s room! It’s probably my most favorite thing I’ve ever drawn it’s just so cute-

It’s day three and I am humbly offering you a NeveRook piece 🤲

The prompt for today is mages. Rook and Neve are both mages. Is this a stretch because I didn’t really include anything in this piece that gives off the impression that they are mages? Yes. Did I draw this because I really wanted an excuse to draw ship art? Also yes. I just wanted to show them being sweet together okay? And if there’s one thing I like to draw, it’s a kiss/almost kiss with a pretty sky for the background 💕

Rook Appreciation Week 2026 | Day 2 | Forest

Day 2 of Rook week! I chose to do the Forest prompt because my favorite area of the game is Arlathan, which makes sense because my Rook is a Veiljumper! Sometimes Rook likes a quiet moment alone, so I like to think that he spends it sketching the scenery in nature 🍂

I’m going to be completely honest, I’m not super proud of this one. It’s the drawing I spent the most time on, but I probably like it the least out of the lineup I have. I don’t normally draw backgrounds so I really wanted to practice drawing one, but I think I over rendered it so everything looks too smooth and the tree looks kind of funny. But I do love how Rook turned out! His pose looks very relaxed 😌

Rook Appreciation Week 2026 | Day 1 | Mentor

It’s finally Rook week!! I have been preparing for ages and I’m so excited that it’s finally time for me to share the pieces I have made dedicated to my Rook!

This piece is inspired by one of the alternate prompts for the challenge, and it shows Rook as a child with my Hawke because he was raised by her. My Rook is a mage and he was mentored by my Hawke who is also a mage, so this drawing is meant to represent that. I think it turned out really pretty despite this being my first time drawing my design for Hawke and my first time drawing Rook as a kid haha
