The hedgehog barely keeps himself from jumping as he hears his superior's voice from behind him, turning around to face Makima. "It's... it's nothing."

There's a short pause as the reflexive answer lingers in the air. It's clear from the way Scourge's eyes dart that it was just something he said to have an immediate answer. For most people he would have left it at that. But her... all she needed was to look down at him and he'd start spilling his guts out.

"The whole reason I'm here... why I'm doing this. I was too weak to fight back. I just... I want to be stronger. Strong enough that I'm never beaten again." Another pause. The way he hides his eyes behind his sunglasses. He's nervous to discuss the implications of this.

"...to get that strong. Is that something Public Safety would even let me do?"

it was entertaining to be honest -- to have this kind of authority over a person. for someone to feel so uneasy and helpless that they were basically begging for her help and advice... it amused her. much more than she will ever show.
