just another blissful sunset in paradise ♡ #grateful (at Kihei, Hawaii)
I read a book in which a traveller came to a rushing river, and sat down to contemplate before it. Listening to the sounds of the water's movement, observing it's dance along the shores, the traveller came to understand the lifecycle of water-- from river to sea to sky, cloud, and then rain. This enlightenment was so grounding, the traveller was filled with happiness and contentment, as he could momentarily comprehend the eternity of all things in the universe. This mindfulness and consciousness of one's place in space and as a member of life on Earth is vital to developing moral values and making decisions on a daily basis. Whatever you must to do hold onto this cosmic epiphany, actively perform that task. For me, it is seeking beautiful destinations and going outdoors. Like the traveller in the book I read, Siddhartha of Siddhartha by Herman Hesse, I find clarity when surrounded by nature's enormity. To be overwhelmed by natural forces is to know freedom. All matter displays a similar quality to the eternal life cycle of water. No matter can truly be lost-- We are forever present in some energy form or another. More specifically, water is ancient. In the form of waves, it has molded the Earths geographic surface and composition for all of time. Like Siddhartha, I sometimes try to listen to the waves. They are wiser than most. On Sundays, Little Beach can be a wild (naked!) place to view the sunset, but it is entirely vacant during the sunrise, making for a peaceful solo (clothing optional) swim in the amazing blue waters.
