I accidentally tripped and fell into this AU. I keep seeing different takes on “the guy in the polaroid is actually Colt,” and “what if Colt faked his death right before the Hail Mary launch so they told Ryland he was dead,” but-

Imagine if Colt faked his death right before the launch and they found his jacket in the harbor. Imagine if Stratt pulled some kind of strings to get his jacket on the ship as one of Ryland's personal items before anyone realized Colt was still alive…

I rediscovered my sketchbook and was doodling a silly thing for mermay and uh... my hand slipped. Very self indulgent but the idea for an AU wouldn't leave me alone so here we are! Explanation and a few stand alone renders under the cut (+ Stan with a guitar). Enjoy ;)

This was based on a story idea I came up with at like 3AM a couple weeks ago. I was going to write out the premise here, but it ended up being way long, so I'm debating trying my hand at writing a fic about it. The basic idea was that Glass Shard suffers a huge catastrophe when the Stan twins are kids. Stan gets turned into a merman/siren in order to save his life by an old merman who owed them a favor. The rest of the family assumes he died and all attempts to track them down end up going poorly. Years later Ford (and probably a somewhat reluctant Fiddleford) decides to investigate the nearby mythical island of Gravity Falls only to come across a huge surprise when one particularly elusive anomaly happens to be his long lost dead brother. who is now a fish :)
