When Gale weirdly said “Katniss will pick whoever she THINKS she can’t survive without.” Katniss is so hurt, and frustrated by him and Peeta (poor Peeta lol), and her point of hurt and frustration is:

“There's not the least indication that LOVE, DESIRE, or even COMPATIBILITY will sway me.”

And katniss is swayed by these factors, throughout the books and after the war. And I love how Katniss factors them in her conclusion about why it was always going to be Peeta.

Love: you love me , real or not real? Real.

Desire: the hunger that overtook me on the beach

Compatibility: that what I need to survive is not Gales fire , kindled with rage and hatred. I have plenty of fire myself. What I need is the dandelion in the spring.

I have a silly thought bc i’m sleepy

So in the show Satyrs take twice as long to mature, right? And the way this was shown in the show is stating that Grover was 24 but looked around 13 (ambitiously aryan is very much sixteen at the time). And that’s all fun and games until you think about how it affects Grover’s appearance at other times, namely how the Grover who was protector to the runaway trio (luke, Thalia and annabeth) would’ve looked about 9.5/10 years old maybe 11 at most.

Because it happened five years ago, which makes him age wise 19. And given that satyrs are physically half the age he’d have looked about half that, so 9.5. Given the shows non strictness on it, I’d give it maybe 12 at *most*.

Anyways next time you think of those memories remember that Grover would’ve looked just slightly older than Annabeth. Picture an eleven year old doing everything he can to defend his friends when he probably is too short to even reach the top shelf, picture this child pleading with Thalia to not sacrifice herself knowing that he has a duty to return them to camp where despite their supposed “provision of a safe haven” they’ll merely become child soldiers and picture this eleven year old grover maybe even younger going up and facing Chiron to tell him that he failed.

something i really wished we had gotten in the books was for sally and annabeth to meet each other for the first time. like, we know that they know of each other, but they don't know each other. and my hope with the tv series (if it gets renewed) is we get to see that happen in some form.

featuring the beginning:

“And that is why pink and black are colours that no-one can pull off and why the teen magazines are all wrong about it”. Amber’s high pitched voice echoed slightly in the empty drama classroom. She gave an overly dramatic sigh as she plopped herself down on a beanbag, her best friend Nienke left laughing as she did the same. Soon the rest of the class joined them, taking their seats next to them on the beanbags.

The mood amongst the students was chattery, and everyone seemed excited for the announcement. Mr. Winker had mentioned in their previous lesson that he’d something to tell the students and they’d spent the rest of the week wondering what it could be.

“Attention everyone,” he took to the front, his hands motionion as he spoke,”as you’re all aware I told you that I had an announcement, and I’m sure that you’re all wondering what that is.”

“Do you reckon it’s another party?” Patricia joked to the others, remembering their school’s weirdly ambitious attempts at formal events.

“And the surprise is … we’re going on a trip to see the grand opening of an Ancient Egyptian exhibition!”

Victor would’ve been well impressed with the absolute stilte afterwards, you could easily have heard a pin drop.

Slightly phased by the lack of response, the poor teacher quickly added, “It’ll also be an overnight trip as it’s in Rotterdam!”

The response was much greater that time, with the students excitedly chatting away. Overnight trips were a rarity for the school, so this was a huge deal. Almost instantly the students began planning their day out, the clothes they’d wear.

In a smaller corner, at the back of the room Fabian looked up at the new noise. He’d admittedly been half paying attention, his eyes focused on the latest clue for their Sibuna adventure. But upon hearing the word, Rotterdam he perked up suddenly more eager. It was his hometown, or home city to be more truthful. He hadn’t been back in ages since the summer holidays and he couldn’t help but picture the shops and his old favourite spots. It didn’t escape his notice though that somehow Nienke featured in every single scenario.
