i‘m trying to figure out what to make of moriartys drinking habit. he enjoys drinking and does it a lot by himself, but he also ropes sherlock into it with him. offering him drinks, suggesting drinking as a solution, etc. idk….. something about its effects on the mind, dulling the senses. moriarty not being able to fulfil his potential because of his vice? trying to pull sherlock down with him? maybe a connection with sherlocks later canonical substance abuse issues. it being moriartys fault? them being narrative foils, one vice against another? theres something there i just am not sure what it is
